You told me what I needed to know about the dash trim piece. Hopefully that's not too hard to find. The wiring I can figure out through trial and error or research. There's only 3 positions for that switch so it can't be too complicated.

 

Stealership can easily source the dash piece.

 

Bought this & the wiring harness this evening:

 

Yep. Going to mod it a bit - I want to vent it with a small air filter and enclose the top. Without inner fender liners it will get all cruddy even in the new location if I don’t seal it up better.

 

My single failed under the hood. Since the dual was so expensive I wanna protect it as best as I can.
With the relocate I’ll also have to swap the air lines from front to back due to the length.
The mount and harness weren’t cheap - with shipping I’m out $250. But it makes it a pretty straight forward plug & play install and takes a lot of guesswork out.

I’m all about simple.

 

The only reason not to put the compressor in the cab is sleeping kid(s). You'll be out airing up, they are sacked out in the back seat after a long day.

 

Putting a lid on it would be a good idea, I should have done that.

You'll also want to drill a couple holes in the side and add grommets to protect the air and electrical lines going through. My only gripe with that mount is the lack of provisions for routing wires.

Originally I was just going to jam it into the engine bay but I thought that I better put a little bit more effort into it.

That's what the spool is in the left corner. Bought that with the mount.

 

Looks like the regular harness to me.

I’m talking main power from the battery. I initially ran 6g and blew lots of 50,60 and 80 amp fuses at the battery. Then ran 4g with 100amp breaker at the battery, 80 amp at the bed and then I attached the ARB wiring harness with 40amp fuses still intact.

 

It’s an aftermarket harness designed for the longer length install of having the unit in the bed. Very thick wire. I’ll post a close up tomorrow.
