Well apparently the brilliant people over at Forbes have decided to compile a list of the Toughest trucks available in the U.S market... and guess who was number one... the venerable Honda Ridgeline... :puke: WHAT THE FUCK!

Its not even a real truck!

The Tacoma did not even make the list

    http://autos.yahoo.com/articles/autos_content_landing_pages/1712/the-toughest-trucks/

btw, who the hell would buy a ridgeline if you can get all those other trucks for $5-$8 less

I love their perfect dependability scores from Consumer reports. Way to go guys, sampling a population of motorists that never uses their "trucks" for anything beyond driving to a car-camping campsite.

Of course their reliability scores are great. They lead car lives.

Apparently the drugs are really good at Forbes. The Ridgeline has a unibody, not a frame, therefor should be immediately removed from the list.

    The Ridgeline is powered by a transversely mounted J35A91, (2006–2008) J35Z5, (2009-????) 3.5 L V6 with a five speed automatic transmission.
The all-wheel drive system operates in front-wheel drive mode under normal conditions and automatically transfers power to either rear wheel via a locking differential when it senses a loss of traction in the front. The VTM-4 system can be locked in first, second or reverse gears at speeds under 18 mph (29 km/h).
The VTM-4 lock (rear diff lock) works in full rear power mode up until 6 mph (9.7 km/h) then it gradually transitions to power to the front and releases the VTM-4 lock at 18 mph (29 km/h)

The Ridgeline is currently the only car-based pickup in the United States and Canada.

Wish I could have gotten a pic, was on a test drive in a customers car however, didn't even have the phone on me.

I had to do a double check, those tire lugs are unmistakeable though.

I agree that it is not really a "truck" being unibody and car-based, but I have 3 friends who own or have owned those, and they are excellent "trucks" for city use - occasional Home Depot trips for mulch etc. One guy belonged to a club who went wheeling on a regular basis and although they would not be able to keep up with the rock crawlers on this site, they appear to be actually very capable off-road. They will go anywhere my Tacoma Prerunner can go. My wife is in her 2nd Honda Odyssey minivan and I can attest that Honda quality is top notch. The first van had 211,000 miles without any major issues when we traded it on the new one.
So, a long story to say that yes, Ridgelines might not be concidered real trucks, but they are great vehicles.
(I will keep my Tacoma though)

To clear some things up, The Ridgeline is NOT based on a Honda car platform. It is a Unit Body over Ladder Frame vehicle. One of the stiffest chasis' on the market. Also, Keep in mind, the jeep Cherokee has been a unit body vehicle since its debut. And, the Ridgeline is an AWD vehicle....
