Gotcha. You would need whatever pulley/lifting mechanism clearance above your truck/camper and the camper itself sets about 7" taller than the high point of the roof.

Sitting on stands wouldn't be much of an issue, but inside storage, or even just covered storage would be a lot better.

Some manufacturing photos to complement the truck ones from earlier...

Buncha campers worth of extrusion and machined corners fresh out of Hondo...

New truck bed mounting system cut on the plasma. Pre bending. Is that a tie down attachment point? :gossip:

Post bending, pre weld...Pretty incredible resolution on that thing.

Thats an impressive cut, the new mounting system looks goooooood. I like the addition of a tie down point to make it dual purpose. Its all in the details.

    2 things

    1. What do yall think about a "Go Fast Campers Buildout/Mods" thread? Similar to the Drifter thread created by one of the drifter owners? I know its a little early but itd be nice to see what people come up with once these things start rolling out, it also be nice to have it in one thread.

    2. We should do a yearly GFC event where the owners rally and go on some sort of offroading/camping adventure, I think its known as overlanding now.... Again, not a lot of owners yet so maybe make it a 2019 thing but by the way its going there could be over 200 GFCs in the wild this year. I am in the Southeast but I plan to make a big event or 2 every year, Ill be in the Montana area September picking up something special. :fingerscrossed::transformer:

@Squeaky Penguin where are you in the build queue? Very curious to see what they come up with for our horrible narrow bed rails, and the difference between reg/ext/double cab cab angles.

I’m sure itlol be surprising cool and simple, but there have been no renderings or anything yet

Think he is 15 or something. Haven't seen anything for 1st gens yet. I'm anxious to see as well.

Had offered up my double cab and single cab for measurements but haven't set a date for that. I believe they have a local extended cab.

I know it’s too late, and wouldn’t be “fair” at this point. But it sure would seem that production would be faster if they built campers in groups. Say 10 Gen 2/3 DCSB, than 10 Gen 2/3 DCLB, ext (only as an example) that way the tubing would all be the same, jigs all the same, fabric all the same. Just seems it would be so much faster....

    18. Latest update I got was 1st or 2nd week of May, but scheduling was tight given that popular, big parking lot camping event coming up. :p

Either way, I would expect to see some 1st gen action here soon. I'm leaving to go 'overlanding' tomorrow and will be gone all next week, so hoping for some updates when I get back.

I'm #15 and mine is supposed to finish today. I will be the first to experience cross-country freight so that will be the next waiting game. Should be interesting to see how long it takes an independent trucker to deliver to NC.

If you read the email updates closely I believe shipping for pre-orders is White Glove delivery (if you paid for shipping). Might want to double check on the shipping since it shouldn't be by freight for pre-orders.

I have seen email updates mentioned a few times. Are these updates currently going to the first customers expecting delivery, or do I need to be added to a list? My order #130ish can't come soon enough.

Sent an email to GFC, but curious if you could get your hands on some Windoor slider type windows from Leer or the likes and put in the bed side panels of the GFC pop-up(?) I see the side panels are not that thick and rest right against the frame...so not sure that would work. I'm really liking the looks of this setup, but need good ventilation for my hunting dogs which would be in crates in the bed.

I was a pre-order paid in full which included free freight but not the delivery/setup which was for local areas only. Here's Graeme's quote in an email to me:
"The delivery/install option we are offering is basically local delivery and help mounting the camper to the customer's truck. For most deliveries, especially to the east coast, we plan to pull a trailer with our tow rig and deliver them in batches of 5-10 units. So the lead time is a little bit longer than standard freight, but that is how we are able to justify the expense."

    It's DLX son!
@whitetaco16 - I think I am starting to understand the personal delivery option a bit better - so for you they offered to drive it out personally, but it would have taken longer vs. standard freight delivery?

I am stoked to hear they are up to 15, I was estimating the 5 this week was going to put the total closer to 7.

Those shots Drew took of the silver on silver with the window have me drooling. Thing is looking sharp!

I guess I'm confused. In the very first weekly email they clearly state local delivery and install to any address in the lower 48 if you pre-ordered & paid for shipping. Unless you are saying that you volunteered to have freight because you want it sooner?

Here’s my understanding of it and there is plenty room for confusion.
I preordered with a deposit before the deadline to qualify for free freight. Then I paid in full on day one when that option was available. That got me build #15.
I can get the free delivery and install assistance but since I’m on the east coast, I’d have to wait for their rig to have 5-10 campers on it before they make an east coast run. The other option is freight hauler and I do my own install.
That’s my take on it but who knows....
