@gman36 I'd think the seatpost would be a bigger issue. I've currently got a cab-height topper, and my bike fits fine with the front wheel off, and the seat lowered.

I'm actually stoked about the added height of the GFC cause I'm hoping it'll provide enough room to fit my CX bike without having to drop the seat. I'd still be kicking myself for getting a cab-height instead of a mid-rise, except I think the cab-height might end up being easier to sell. :D

Did not get either. I can say that the lighting kit is incredibly well thought out. The Mrs. made me draw a line somewhere, but I am definitly going to be getting the lighting kit when she lets me.

Just like the camper itself, the lighting kit is made from top notch materials, innovative af design, and engineered to the T. Did not see the fan, but I am certain it is equally amazing.

I did get both windows. Highly recommended! You can see behind you much better than through a softopper. I’d compare it to any topper with front/rear windows in that respect.

It fits in my garage too! I did not measure my garage clearance, or the rig’s total height. I just waited till I got home, went really slow, and the stars lined up. Hopefully this summer lasts forever, but it is good to know it will be safe next winter. I will measure the rig when I get a chance. I know you all want the numbers.

Specs are a bit haywire. Can't get anything concrete, but they look identical in size with about a 1/2" in difference at most. "Should fit". Passive flow during night time isn't something I'd want. I'd be more willing to have the day/night version whether I install it myself or they offer it instead.

Agree - it would be nice to have a 12V or rechargeable option on the fan.

Do be aware though, if you're installing a hardwired fan you then will have to run the wire the length of the roof back to the hinge area and would probably want to conceal/protect it in some surface mount conduit/cord mold etc.

This added labor could be why GFC kept the offering solar only to keep the price reasonable.

That's a valid point, but for a small price increase for the day/night fan (assuming it fits; which looks like it should) you would have a rechargeable battery built into the fan, dual directional flow (this would be great for positive pressure) and 24/7 functionality. For the GFC team that spares no expense it would only make sense to offer this route too or instead.

Just my 2 cents while I watch in jealousy as others get theirs :(

Yeah, I agree the rechargeable option is step in the right direction.

Part of me feels like if I am going to spend much more on the fan I want to have something hardwired and not have to worry about getting enough sun to recharge the fan batteries.

In the end I would prefer to have GFC install the fan, so I won't have to muster up the courage to cut a hole in the roof of my new camper! That may mean I compromise a little on fan selection to fit whatever they're offering.

While I'm jealous of others getting their campers, it is exciting to see the numbers growing more and more quickly and helping me make up my mind about color, windows. etc..

These last a long time and move a lot of air. I've used for years on boats.

And if it is this one, you could potentially use other deck plate accessories too.

Do these fans have a filter or way of preventing dust from getting in? Will it last getting frozen?

I like solar vents but if you have gear on the rack it might block much of the sun needed to charge the batteries. It would be more optimun to have the vent hard wired to an auxilary battery although it would complicate the installation.
Another possible option is to mount several hardwired vent fans on the sides but make sure that they have the reversable option for dusty roads.

Not I don't care about the vent (not on my wishlist), but dang, I'm dying for more juicy GFC stuff.

Did you see the video the other day of the automatic tent fabric cutting table? That was pretty cool.

Also the one this morning of the camper being loaded in a semi-trailer and then the fork-lift doughnuts was fun.

I hate the snap-chat-esque story feature of instagram, in that the videos disappear so quickly.

No. I'm not on IG or snapchat.

TW is about as fast as I can go with short term attention span type of activity. This place is nutz how fast it moves.

I joined IG just to stalk GFC and hondogarge and don't do anything with it otherwise. It's been worth it to get my fix.

I can't disturb the relief that I have been feeling since deleting FB. It was my only social media account. I had to the point where it was pretty much blank for about 6mo, then deleted my account a day or two before the Cambridge Analytica thing happened.

I can understand that it must be crazy to keep threads going on what are probably a few different forums for each model they are covering plus the expedition and offroad forums.

At this point, I guess that I just want to see the different configs. I suppose that will all get out when folks get theirs.

I'm 100% sold, but I can't place an order for another 12mo or so due to budgeting and am living vicariously through Wiley's and @inv3ctiv3 's adventures. The way that the weather rolled through here, I could have used the simplicity of the GFC quite a lot. That idea is just searing my brain since this thread started.

As long as it's not completely blocked from the sun they charge enough.
