Can anyone confirm what is the size of the frame tubing, seem to recall it was 1.5" OD. Just went back to GFC website and I didn't see the specs on it. I want to order a clamp but need to know the correct size.

The Decked system performed flawlessly. I had my tent, both sleeping bags, stove, and a whole lotta other crap in them. It rained fairly hard on my drive up to VT, not a single drop of moisture in the drawers they stayed dry 100%.

Side note we had s great time camping, my buddy and his Big FJ (on 35’s) was with us. He had a RTT, and every morning he spent 15-20 mins taking it down. If i had my GFC I would had been sitting and waiting... i can definitely see the purpose of quick set up and take down.

In my case i left my VE-25 set up at camp while we traveled during the days. Obviously if you were moving sites daily this wouldn’t work.

Can’t wait for my GFC... 4 more weeks is my guess....

Did he have the annex setup?. 15-20 seems like a while for a RTT...

Good to hear the decked setup worked well.

15-20 minutes to break down a RTT? Does he have one with an annex? It takes me 4 mins tops to break down my Tepui Kukenam, moving slowly, alone, and without coffee lol. But I'm not including removal of sleeping bags etc, since I tend to leave mine in the tent when I fold it up, as do a lot of other people.

Nice to see the Decked system worked well. I have my fingers crossed that they will eventually make a first gen version, but I somewhat doubt it.

No annex. But on 35’s with 6” of Lift it’s pretty far for reachable.... putting the cover on takes the longest... i may have exaggerated??? Idk i blame the IPA, at least 10 mins

I’m glad this was mentioned. I planned to get mine with the fan but if it only works in sunlight I’ll pass. I mainly want the option to keep airflow moving throughout the night, using it while driving to ventilate the bed area is just a secondary benefit.

I saw that you were using a MR buddy heater at Expo West. How did the GFC do in the colder temps? Perhaps as a comparison to a different tent or the flipak?

Good to hear it did so well. I'm struggling on whether I want one or not. The 225lbs weighs heavily on my mind.

I've roamed the NE Kingdom, upper NH and Maine on two wheels a lot the last few years and plan to do it again late summer. This time will be some on dirt bikes and some with the GFC.

Almost every picture I see of a stationary GFC, one of the side panels is open. Speaks a lot to the usefulness of that feature. Its easy enough that it's not a hassle to use, and its useful enough that it becomes part of routine.

Also, I spy crocs. Love mine, and anyone who knocks them has never used them while camping haha

This is nice - but it's kind of reinventing the wheel.

    https://www.westmarine.com/buy/marinco--4-day-night-solar-nicro-vent--17863341?recordNum=9

I need to measure how far this protrudes into the living space. I'm kind of not opposed to leaving a cushion out if that would help with airflow. It's so damn wet up here. With no opening windows I really think it could get kinda musty with the dog back there. With my existing canopy if it's not raining I can open things up (opening side windows) to help dry everything out while I'm driving around..

I'll measure my vent but I'm pretty sure it sticks down 4" or so from the ceiling. I'm on a business trip so can't get to it until Friday.

When I spoke with Graeme on the phone earlier about the fan he confirmed it is a solar power operated fan only. He said they are looking into other options that will work within the space constraints imposed if you wanted to leave all the bed panels in place with the top closed. He also said it wouldn’t be difficult to install a different fan of your choice as long as you're comfortable taking a hole saw to the roof of your new camper.

Congrats on your success at ExpoWest Wiley and Co. It really is fantastic to see the success the GFC is having throughout the Overlanding/ Off-road communities. I'm looking forward to a great season with mine this post was "comforting" as far as when I might be expecting delivery. Thank you.

By the way it's been "Wednesday" for 4 hours and 14 mins in Bozeman. Where's my update :boink:

    Just KIDDING!!!!!!!!
