I’m #31 and will be picking mine up on the 16th. Graeme told me they are comfortably able to produce five a week and expect to increase capacity as their newer employees gain experience.

 

lip balm or wax works for lubricating a zipper; there are specific waxes for that - Mcneil Zipper wax for Drysuits is one example.

 

So cool the positive response to these campers! The design seems great. Also glad to see other options available now with this style of pop-up for those who like to travel comfortably and light! I'd like to see more about the others...but the GFC has really got my attention. Now, just need to sell my house to pay for my 4x4 addiction . As a small business owner who hand makes quality goods, I can appreciate how quickly GFC has gone from an idea to full-blown production. By the end of summer, they will have a strong rhythm. Great work guys!

 

What a long strange trip it’s been....

I was just reading back through this post. It’s been exactly 2 months today, that GFC production model 1 was installed. It feels like an eternity.

So basically GFC has been able to produce about 8 campers a month, or two a week up to this point. Keep in mind that includes tooling up an entire shop.

I’m thinking the estimate of 5 a week and scaling up from there seems very attainable. That said I am afraid I’m going to miss the July 4th holiday with mine but damn it’s going to be close.

I just reread my emails. I was #25 to order but it looks like I'm #46 in the build queue.

Same here, waited too long to pay. Order #16 originally but production #31.

 

@crazysccrmd did you happen to talk to Graeme over the phone or email? I’m #26 and emailed him about a month ago asking about picking mine up late may but still haven’t heard back. I’m thinking calling is the best way to communicate with them at this point. Thanks!

 

I'd give them a call. Graeme was kind enough to answer my call and field questions on their way to Expo.

 

According to Wiley's post on Sunday, those of us in the first 50 should be expecting an email update today.

 

Email, text and phone. Most of the info came from the phone conversation yesterday afternoon.

 

Hope Graeme has a headset...I predict lots of phone calls coming his way......

 

Usually the normal aluminum clamps. The bed rails are very narrow though, and we do not have any tie down rails etc.

 

#30 here but haven't heard anything from them since leaving a VM a few weeks back. Hopefully the email update today will be good news.

 

The real tricky one is the one behind the cab. That sucker is super narrow.

 

And it doesn't even have a lip you can tuck under. If you wanted to mount anything to the front rail, you'd have to drill.

 

And even then, getting bolts in it is a freaking event. I did that once. Never again.

 

Do you know who sent the email to you? My contact was with Graeme a couple months back however, I'm not getting any luck as of late.
