I had to remove my rack for some windshield work/rust repair, and with the market for Prinsu in Denver I sold my prinsu for the price of a new one and ordered the half rack. I was about $30 out of pocket to order the half rack. My receipt says shipping June 21 (if i remember correctly). I was almost going to just chop it in half, but like the idea of having a cleaner look. If i had an access cab or long bed i would have definitely cut just the end of it for more rack.

I assume you had to call about the half rack? Not seeing it on their site and this is an intriguing option.

Pull the trigger man. Another Texas GFC!

I just read about the half rack from a post above

Once the money from the house sale lands in my bank account, things are getting ordered!

Ive got a long bed! So this means the overhang would be less and thus less of the prinsu removed... right?

Yep, whereas where you would need to chop the top on the short bed its in the middle of one of the slots for the adjustable bars.

I actually emailed about 1.5 months ago inquiring if they were going to make one, and they were. I had to order over the phone with Mike (i believe that's who i needed to talk to). They originally were going to introduce it for tacoma habitats, but the go fast has the same issues as the habitat in regards to overhang.

You mean store stuff underneath on the inside of the camper? That fixed portion would be the overhang over the cab I would think.

The fixed portion extends into the bed area on the camper. I measured it as 23” at expo. I’m building a shelf under mine at bed rail level to hold some lightweight items.

I measured the cab overhang on the access cab model as well and the front edge of the camper extends 21” forward from the back of the cab. Measurements done with a tape measure while mostly sober, so may be and inch off either way.

    It's DLX son!
I've run a similar sized shelf on top of the bed rails (or rather on the inner lip of my camper shell) for years and it's so handy. It's not limited to lightweight stuff either - as I often would sit on mine in my last shell.

Mine is a scrap of 3/4" OSB sub-floor, re-enforced with angle iron glued and screwed along the long dimensions (to keep it from bowing), painted black, and now even has strips of L-track along the perimeter.

I currently have it mounted to the utility track with some angle iron brackets and @wileydavis (aka Hondo Garage) t-nuts. Just hauled a 75lb fridge/drawer slide 50+ miles strapped to it last night.

Those T-nuts are so handy, I already have used the first 8 I ordered.

It's not the best for showing the detail of its construction, but this shows the general idea. Currently mounted in the middle of the bed, it also provides a theft deterrent for larger items under it with the tailgate locked.

Can someone with a shortbed version measure some spacing for me? Trying to see if there is room between the bracing on the side panels to mount Maxtrax pins. Four pins at the corners of a 35”x10.6” rectangle.

Glad to see progress and people getting ahold of their campers. The pictures in the latest email look awesome.

Any word on fitted sheets yet?

I forgot to ask when I talked to Graeme on the phone. It looks like one unit has something different with the red checked cushions.
