@crazysccrmd Awesome! Do you have the factory plastic bed rail caps on or the kbvoodoo steel caps?

Driving from Alabama to Montana to pick up the GFC I averaged 17.27mpg. From Bozeman to Dawson Creek BC I've averaged 16.14mpg.

Also...black might hide the bugs better.

It has provisions for mounting to your present rear view mirror. This is just one option. Another one would be to use your smart phone or tablet as the monitor and a wifi transmitter in conjunction with a rear facing camera like with this setup. https://fleets.rearviewsafety.com/s...-systems/rv-eye-wifi-rv-motorhome-camera.html
You can do it way cheaper by buying the parts individually.

Saw a white Tacoma with a front bumper and rear swingout with a white GFC in Arches NP today. Looked like NM plates.

Sorry to clarify, where would you mount the camera?

I'd probably mount it just above the rear door and either tap into the aluminum or use one or two track T nuts with an aluminum plate as the mounting surface. 3M tape might work with a small plate too. It would be cool if it could be intergrated into the third tailight somehow. You could get the 12v off of the tailight regardless.

Hey guys, order #183 here. I keep seeing people mention the reinforced bed rail caps from kbvoodoo. What is the consensus on those? Are they needed?

Why don't you guys do some searches on the forum. THere are 2 modifications so you can use the backup camera anytime. I think one is called 'backup camera anytime' and the other is the HAI cable assembly. I have the 'HAI' installed. I just push a button and see what's behind me...

Yep. I get it. But the cable costs 100 bucks and it's pretty easy to flip the switch. :)

    Cheers

I have the same question as well.

From what I have read, the kbvoodoo caps allow for the GFC to sit slightly lower.

Well, they're on their way to Orange County CA, and built these campers based on trips to Baja, so i would hazard a guess that they're going to get some dawn patrol action in while they're down here.

Shoot, with the amount of roof space available they really should have a few of each on top.

I believe the seal is better vs the textured factory bed caps as well.
