The side panels, though very stout, do have some flex to them. You could lock the rear latch "closed" with the panel open, then close the side panel and latch the front latch like normal. Might take some mmmf because the seals are very good. This would give you an inch or inch and a half opening along the bottom rear, and lower rear corner of the panel for ventilation. Maybe not the best way to do it, but i don't think it would hurt anything.

Wish i could have stayed for a beer or two.

It was awesome to meet you @gmacmt! these campers are such high quality, so much more than pictures show. They really need to be seen/touched in person to get the full idea. I cannot wait to order mine.

Maybe the only possible suggestions i could add are the raw edge of the rear flap/cover for the tent. Something about it seems like the edge should be hemmed? And maybe with one of those small fiberglass dowels in it to keep the edge rigid if there's ever a way to prop it up like an awning.

That and the two rear bolts that holt the tent to the frame above the rear hatch look like they could really do a number on your forehead or back if you're climbing in or out in the middle of the night. Maybe use button head hardware there to eliminate sharp/hard edges?

Otherwise the attention to detail, and build quality really show on these.

I’ve been thinking of ways to turn the rear door into an awning type overhang. I think two RTT spring bars, a grommet in the lower corners of the flap and a way to attach the spring bars on the extrusion would be a pretty simple solution.

Agreed. or maybe a bracket kind of like a really small flag pole holder to slide the tension rod into? I tend to sleep with the outer flaps of my RTT open when the weather is good for the fresh air. Would be nice to do the same with the GFC.

After a few days on a hot dusty trail, fresh air is never overrated.

Do you think the awning mount will work on the rear extrusion? I have a small ARB awning I want to put there to cover my kitchen/tailgate. Not sure if this will clear the locking bar on the back of the camper.

Wouldn't a rear awning cover up the CHMSL?

if the brackets raise the awning up enough, no.

My RTT has been covering the stock one for years so I’m not too concerned :)

I know we discussed the difficulty of removing the rear/side panels, but what about the front panel directly behind the cab (assuming it’s not fixed in place). Alternatively for those with windows, is there any function of removing the window?

The front panel is attached with dzus fasteners. Should be very easy to remove.

This also makes it easy to run wiring into the GFC from the outside or cab.

If you have tiny baby hands it’s easy. Otherwise you have to slide it forward.

Still can’t get over how amazing this thing is. Got the fitted flannels on and my ARB 2500. Next up, chop the Prinsu rack in half, 6 inches past the middle mounting points.
