It would be tight. The bottom of the overhang is about an inch above the triangular antennae.

That price is a solid number. We have the whole thing designed and priced out. Just waiting on the custom extrusion and paneling material to arrive so we can verify our assembly process (even that is "designed"). Long term goal is to lower the price but the soonest that will happen is two years. I designed these for mass production... we'll be supporting all trucks eventually, not just Tacoma.

That was actually a critical design goal. Although no tent removal required. When closed the popup frame is only 6" tall. And the frame was designed to be a utility-strength rack. I wanted to be able usable as a work truck during the week (steel tubing, ladders, etc) without the need to remove anything.

I like your quality, but I'm looking for something that allows me to carry a moto out to the desert, then camp comfortably in the bed of my truck. Like a shell that disappears. I had the shell on my Gen 2, but have resisted on my Gen 3. I don't like tents for a lot of reasons. Any ideas?

Eventually we're going to offer the upper portion as a standalone hardshell tent with a solid floor (no pass-though) primarily for SUVs. But for the first production run it will all be complete campers. If you've got the truck bed to work with there are so many advantages to integrating the two. It's closer to a 4wheelcamper shell model for people who want something more durable and a lot lighter.

Yeah that's what I did on my Gen 2. Trying to avoid, but I realize I'm wanting both worlds.

Awesome!! From what I have seen you make quality stuff, so I am sure this will follow suit. This is the best design I have seen so far.

We toyed with the idea of a pop up lower just for motos but even if the shell is tall enough it's a pain to load bikes in one without a slide-out tray. Starts getting really expensive and heavy. If you only need to haul one bike, the hitch carriers work well. But I don't trust the ones that carry two bikes.

Definitely out of my budget, but loving the low-profile look and drop-thru floor (and the Hondo name on it, of course). Looking forward to seeing the production version.

It looks like your design only incorporates the 6ft bed. Any plans to get it to fit on the 5ft bed? Also, I'd like to bump the question about having it fit with the prinsu cabrac.

Very nice looking product! I've bought the unholey phone mount for the vent and the radio knobs and everything I've purchased has been bulletproof and looks nice too!
I'm sure this will be great as well!

We're building models for the 5ft bed as well. We'll have options for the following trucks right out of the gate:

    • 1995-2018 Tacoma, all models.
    • 2015-2018 Colorado/Canyon, all models.
    • 2009-2018 F-150/Raptor, 5.5 and 6' beds only.

So this mounts as a camper correct? Not a RTT to a bedrack?

I wish you luck! I wanted a FlipPak in a bad way, but this looks like a better and much lighter solution.

I'm a couple years out, but I will be watching.

Your Un-holey mount has been just excellent.

Yep. Not a slide in, but like a flip-pac... mounts to the bed rails. The upper and lower do bolt together but they're sealed as a unit when we assemble them. The upper is the same from truck to truck but the lower is different for different truck models. Eventually we'll also be making the upper part available as a standalone RTT with a solid floor for SUVs. But first we'll only be building them as complete campers for trucks.
