I'm actually going to photoshop the color onto my truck, then onto sand, white, and cement (for when I get my new truck). I am 99% sure I am going to go with black. My truck looks like this with black and I like the look, but I also love the grey. I also really like the white, even though it looks more cream to me.

Why sell the 270 awning? Curious as I want to upgrade to one.

Also curious. As i said i wanted the Alu-Cab. Graeme is actually the one that talked me out of it. He said it sticks up way above the GFC because it’s so much bigger where as the ARB is flush... I’ve used the Alu-Cab though on a couple buddies rigs. It’s freaking awesome....

She doesn’t have a drifter, but a prototype from early development. FWIW, Use a true model for most accurate results. Because, science.

Ah gotcha. Guess I'll be ordering the ARB too lol. I have a cheap china awning, but after 2 years of use, it started having holes in it.

    Oops, my bad.

Graeme didn’t say the Alu-Cab wasn’t good or that it wouldn’t work, just that it was quite large and stuck up above the GFC. I decided that and a savings of $1400 was a good enough reason to ARB. Mine should be here this week I’ll post pics of it mounted since i went with the 2500 which should overhang length wise just a little. Also GFC isn’t making Alu-Cab mounts.... yet

I just started shopping to see you went for the 8' one. Interested to see how it'd look. I mean, my awning stuck out like a jousting stick so it'll look better than this hahaha ..

Haha yeah wow... it won’t look like that. I ordered 3 brackets from GFC, and I ordered the Awning from Bomber products. They actually had the best price I found and shipped it free....

I don’t have tracking number for either but as soon as i get it I’ll get it up. I know i did see one person on here that was running the big awning....

If I didn’t already have the 2000 awning and full room I’d probably get the 2500/room combo. I want a 270° but really like the fully enclosed room option the normal square awnings allow.

That was it. It looks perfect that size I think. Thanks for posting you were the inspiration for me choosing 2500. Did you go with 2 or 3 mounts???

OK, I haven't been contributing here as much as promised. Too much work, too many days in the woods playing. Apologies.

We are coming up on 100 nights in our GFC, yes, 100. I'm a very long winded guy, extremely detail oriented. I'm very demanding of my gear, and the people whom I chose to do business with.

I have near zero video skills, limited camera ability/interest. However, I am more than happy to meetup in person to show off the goods and give real advice/review. No armchair quarterback plays being called here. I tell it like it is.

I want to put together something like a long-term review, similar to @inv3ctiv3's review. But I am curious what you guys think would be the best way to do it???? Dope pics are great, but would a video help too? Or do you all just want to sit down and read? There is the official GFC walkaround vid, and @hatchadventures review video, but I keep seeing some the same concerns coming up on here, then they go off into internet forum spirals. I think I might be able to help those still on the fence, or anybody who just wants to know more. Let me know...

I went with 2 after talking with El Queso Grande himself. ARB recommends three points of support for optimum performance(per manual) for the 2.5M model, but they also specify that only 2 points of support will suffice. The man who designed these mounting brackets, for this exact awning, on this exact camper felt 2 would be adequate if placed with intention. I have yet to see a reason to disagree. I'll report back after winter snow load/wind testing.

I had a chinese brand 270, pretty much a cheaper fox wing that i got in a group buy. It was going to take 20mins to set up and 20mins to take down, maybe more. So i sold that and went with an Eezi-awn swift awning, 1 man set up and take down with ease and it can free stand in no win conditions. I also like that you dont need guy lines since the feet have peg holes. I thought about the bat and manta 270 but they seemed big and unnecessary at this time, also I wanted to save some coin.

Interesting. I opted for 3 figuring what the heck it’s only $45 dollars per mount, for what I’ve got into this thing it seemed fairly inconsequential.

Personally I’d love to READ your long term real world review. I think there are more than enough pictures and specs out there and truthfully anyone who needs something can get a response on here within the hour of posting almost anytime of day.

That all said I would love to see your interior set up (yes pics), and how you dealt with living in it almost full time? The ups and downs, good and bad, tips and tricks. Things you figured out along the way.

I obviously have mine already but won’t get a chance to sleep in it until he end of the month. I have some larger and longer trips planned for late fall so I’d love to see how you’ve got yours dialed in for full time living. Where you store stuff. Bedding, food, stove, you get the idea.

Anything you offer with that much experience I’m sure would be greatly appreciated by all.

Oh and F you for living the life I want to be living while I’m here On the East Coast working! Lol. Just kidding 100 nights is awesome man!

If you get a few more bites on an in person demo, I'd be interested in seeing it. Looks like you're in CO?

I'm not really in the market for one of these, so if nobody else in the area wants to see it I don't want to waste your time. I'd love to see one in person eventually though!
