Maybe not. The line-ex panel sounds nice, I almost busted my ass jumping up on the panel when the cushion moved.

Always a balance, right? Use an awesome product ASAP, or get a more finely tuned version down the road.
I'm still stoked I got in on the preorder. The minor things I complain about are basically solely to give GFC a gentle nudge to tweak things to make their product better. I'm a little jealous of the whole startup thing...I'd love to do some new design/engineering for stuff that hasn't been done before. Anyone can keep the standard process going...innovation takes some guts and determination.

Agreed. The only regret I have is that I haven’t been able to use mine as much as I wanted. There’s been a few tweaks since mine was built but they seem pretty minor and fairly easy to duplicate on my own.

I believe they have launched a RTT a few weeks, possibly a month ago now, but it's in the 3K plus range. No real way to build that for $1500, that's what a "decent" fabric made in Asia tent costs, no way with the aluminum and powder coating they could do it for $1500. Really it's about half price from a full GFC (seems fair since you're getting about half the product).

Am I missing something? Mine was in the same delivery (though built a month or so earlier) so it does NOT have a Line-X'ed panel. What is the perceived advantage of that? I wonder was there complaints beforehand? Mine seems very stout but I can't picture why it should be coated? of course having it done wouldn't be a big deal, I'm just curious why they made the switch?

BTW I'm glad Graeme got down the East Coast to FL and is headed AWAY from Hurricane FLO. @Jestersrobe I saw your install (kinda) on IG. Looking good! How was Graeme's new Raptor????

Graeme’s Raptor was looking pretty sweet. I love my Tacoma, but looking around in his Raptor did stir up some unexpected jealousy!

Here’s a pic of the LineX panel:

Can you link up one of those threads, please? I didn't know that folks were using tape.

    Thanks!

Only thing I can think of is the non slip aspect, but I'd be concerned it would tear up the cushion covers after a while.
Is the bottom linex as well, or just top @Jestersrobe ?

Maybe line x is cheaper than powder coating the frame of the panel?

Yeah, I was thinking of the foam tape provided with the cap. Nevermind...

Haven't really looked at their feed since I got my camper. Was hoping to spot a Raptor...no luck.

As far as social media, I only ever had an FB account and I deleted that a while back. Email, texts, and message boards are good enough for me.

    Fixed.

As for the line-x panel, we switched for a couple of reasons:
    • It eliminates a good bit of fabrication time since we don't have to miter and knock on an entire aluminum frame.
    • It makes the panel a tiny bit lighter (line-x itself is actually quite heavy but the overall result is lighter)
    • We liked the look better
    • And it eliminated some sharpish corners
It's just a minor refinement and not a response to a major issue. We've noted no difference in the quality of sleep between the two versions :)

Oh, nice. Didnt notice in the pic the only metal is now the ledger.
    Clever...

What's the make and model of the honeycomb panel...would like to get a 2' x 2' section of it.

...and it just dawned on me how they're likely doing the dog ventilation.
Tiny striker plate hole + string + latch = slightly open side panel.
