Still on stock gears and happy with them lol. I drive slow
"Again, this is all personal preference and my opinion. I do think the Vagabond has it's drawbacks being 2" slimmer for the bed footprint, but that's something I'm willing to give up. Please don't start some argue war with me over my opinion as I've seen happen here. I know there's some diehard GFC fans on this page lol."

This section was specifically meant for people like you

And I type 120+ wpm so this is a breeze for me

Somewhere close - Kinda like a "please go back and read my post," where I state everything I say is an opinion.

We all have preferences! I just figured I'd answer in-depth vs. a vague "I like it more." There are plenty of people who would love a GFC for what it's designed for, and plenty who would love the other companies and what they offer! We all like different things bud, and this is the internet where opinions exist.

It sounds like you have a good idea of what you want. I went through a similar process when I decided GFC vs. Drifter.

No one is going to know your use case as well as you do. Your best bet is to decide on your own about what you want. It looks like you have an easy job ahead of you. Your pros & cons list seems quite one sided.

What’s the purpose of that? Isn’t a forum a way to share ideas, opinions, and knowledge? There are people who are probably in the same position as me and it’s beneficial to read about something before purchasing. Oh well, last reply to the topic.

Haha. Makes for a bit better gas mileage and keeps a few thousand in your wallet. Not a bad trade off.

Thanks for sharing your options and thought process. I think you made some really good points. I have mever made a purchase like this especially where you throw down $500 and then just wait for a year. Gives me plenty of time to think about things and feel confident about the purchase.

I’ll regear when I make the switch next year. No need for it just yet! Still need to do what you’re doing and check clearances.

If I got a good enough offer for my gfc, I’d part with it then get a drifter.

I’d also like to know. I think I remember you taking delivery of your GFC quite recently, like within the last month or two. Have you already used it and found a flaw with it or that it didn't match your intended use.

I wish you had a long bed GFC, I would make an offer.

I have a couple buddies flying into town to do some winter camping and snowboarding next weekend.
It looks like my camp spot will be getting rain/snow the whole weekend. I went ahead and ordered an ARB awning room for a comfortable place for us to hang at night and also a potential place for one of them to sleep if the “upstairs/downstairs” feels a little cramped for 3 guys in their 30s and a dog.
Any thoughts or advice on the ARB awning room?

I have the arb 2000. Sounds like a tight fit but very doable. I’m sure we’ll spend some time outside as well. But wanted to have some sort of “shelter” as well. Thanks @ace7196

Did you stand on one leg while closing it?

    Or just close it?

Has to be done in a certain sequence.

The ARB room is amazing. It makes the camper super livaeable. For the money it’s my favorite piece of kit.

Also how come no one is looking at the SNAP! Treehouse? If i didn’t get my GFC i think I would have gone that direction. Of course I’m on the right coast... they have a pretty nice product... if you want something similar to the Vagabond that is...
