Wooohoooo! Another Colorado owner! Grab the bed rail stake hole covers off Amazon for $20ish so the camper seal sits flush all the way back.

Yeah there is a bit of prep. This is what I bought to make everything plug and play for ZR2:
CravenSpeed Stubby Jr Antenna Replacement for The Chevy Colorado 2015-2018 | 2 inches https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TREJZK6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i9FaCbJ1ND7WJ
ES ENGINEERED BY SCHILDMEIER Stake Pocket Cover Set for 2015-2018 GM Colorado or Canyon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076Z6D3YJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_49FaCbPSWVTB1
CURT 55384 Custom Wiring Connector https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009FJ38Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_G9FaCbSEEGGAZ
    CURT 58030 4-Way Flat Connector Plug https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001GN3BSI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_H8FaCbHJXRZJV
Antenna is for clearance at the top. The stake covers make the seal 100% sealable. And the trailer harness T allows you to connect up the 3rd brake light. You just need crimps and a wire crimp/stripper tool. Strip the 4 way plug ends for 12V (white wire) and brake light (brown wire) and use crimps to connect the 3rd brake light. Nice thing is it’s non intrusive to the wiring harness and you can unplug the cap from wiring if you need to remove it.

As for colors. They delivered the grey to me when I asked for black but while I was there figuring out a solution I was able to see the grey next to the green. I personally don’t think it’s a good match. The black goes together best hands down.

If you zoom in on my avatar photo it’s at silver lake dunes with about 3-4 ft of air. Was impressed with fast sand performance too. Rear springs are bouncy when you land hard though, so planning on replacing overload springs with deaver mini pack. Should make the GFC handle great back there.

@I_eat_tacos Elise messaged me earlier this week saying they shipped me a Colorado wiring harness. I've not received it yet so I'm not sure if those Curt items are still required, but I'll probably still try to tap into the Curt harness to leave the stock wiring alone. Thanks again for the tip on that!

Will you be making a cab rack for double cab long bed that uses all the available cab space in front of the GFC? Looking for a good place for a shovel and max trax.

When I talked with Ross before we found out he had the wrong delivery he said he was working on a Colorado specific harness or something. That’s probably what they sent. This one is non invasive. With the way dealers have been lately I’m not trying to tap into my wiring harness unless it’s the only option. Plus a trailer 12V can be used for lights as well. I used that signal to wire in lights as well. I have my own additional custom harness for a double duty.

Not as cool as @Quadabaum but got down to about 27F and stayed warm in the GFC with a quilt and heavy comforter.
When we arrived the sliders to unlatch the tent we're frozen, but finally got it.
Lots of RWD cars sliding over the pass. Got out and tried to help, but off camber + ice + summer tires makes it tough.

We're making a number of variations but yes, there will be cab-mounted racks for access and double cab trucks that will utilize the space in from of the GFC overhang. We'll also be making a short cantilever rack that extends about 16" past the front of the GFC and attaches to the lower tent frame for folks who don't need that much space and don't want to mount anything to the cab.

An occasional spritz of Boeshield into the slots will help prevent that from happening.

    Looking good. Thats pretty chilly.

I have been looking for ways to move from a sleeping bag to sheets/covers. What type of quilt and comforter? Its hard for me to find stuff in my area that I am confident could replace a sleeping bag.

Edit: also, where can i buy more of the GFC caribiners? I need one or two more.

Yeah, did that pre trip. Anyone else going winter camping, listen to this guy. Otherwise it will be a lot more interesting of a trip.

The side panel latches were super easy, but there was some ice frozen just on the outside of the tent latch. After that broke it was smooth sliding!

Enlightened Equipment quilt (revelation I think...800fp) And a winter weight comforter (650fp).

My GFC came with latches that I found were on Amazon. May be different now.

I've found a Rumpl comforter to be sufficient for my girlfriend and I. We have the two person size and layer it on top of a normal queen size sheet. Even though it is only rated to 40 degrees (600 fill) it has been enough for us to sleep comfortably with thermals on down to the teens. Sharing body heat from another person makes it a lot warmer, although we might be an exception to the rule because we are used to backpacking through nights below freezing, so mileage might vary for others. At $300 (even cheaper on sale all the time or with a pro deal) for two people, it was hard to pass up. It's nice because we can throw all of our sleeping gear (blanket, sheet, pillows, spare single person blanket for feet if really necessary) into a 15x12x12 bin for easy organization in the back of the truck.

Not to start a brand fight, but for $300 you can buy a hell of a nice backpacking quilt/bag as much higher FP that would pack down more.
I'm sure they function fine, but Rumpl is way overpriced IMO.
