Smoothies are made with ice cubes.

Shakes are made with ice cream.

Your attitude is making me strongly consider removing this from my GFC’s rear panel.

So it DOESN’T seem to have many water issues?

That’s your fake news? Are you saying it does have reported water issues?

Fake news is in reference to your “all the drifters are in SoCal” comment.

The lie detector test determined that was a lie.

I have an aux fuse box behind the passenger side/small cubby with power ran down the frame from the aux battery on the passenger side of the engine bay. Right now all it powers is a voltage gauge/usb/12v outlet combo panel. I’m probably going to relocate the fipuse box because it gets a bit more road spray than I’m comfortable with having mix with electricity.

Will you admit if they're any flaws in the Drifter design or have you found your perfect love and you're in bliss?

I looked at the Drifter but they didn't have the full size truck version yet and didn't seem to that interested in producing one in the near future. I saw the Drifter at the Northwest Overland rally. It seemed like a practical design but rather clunky when compared to the sleek and creative GFC design. They may be practical but the beefy house door hinges have a home made appearance. The little residential looking gate locks bugged me too. Aesthetics aside, I suspect their XL version will be north of 8K and since I'm starting from scratch and need to buy a lot of overland gear, the GFC was the choice for me.

I also think once there are a 100 or so units in the wild, certain flaws in the design will inevitably appear. Nothing is perfect. What I would've gained in space is offset by the $'s, lack of availability and the GFC is just a cooler design.

Oh, finally an on topic question.
    @trouttaco

I did the same thing. I sealed up the cubby to keep road spray out and attached the fuse box to the cubby roof in case water gets in, it won’t sit submerged (I left a small drain in place). The fuse box powers usb charge sockets, fridge outlet, LEDs for the bed. I ran 10g wire from the aux battery to the fuse box to limit voltage drop. Some things are sensitive to that.

Definitely. Look at any of my builds. Ask anyone that knows me. I have no problem complaining about things no matter how much money I spent on it. If it sucks, it sucks. I’m not going to make an excuse for a shortcoming that doesn’t meet my expectations. I’ll either fix it, swap it out, or throw it away all together.

My only complaint thus far with the Drifter is not having side access or a vent fan. I have a loaner (Zero) that has no side doors nor a fan. I ordered Front Runner doors on both sides and the fan on my actual build to suit my needs.

Now how about some pix of your XL since you got it yesterday right?

Ohhhhh... i get it. I apologize you’re right. I was wrong. I didn’t realize you were a Vagabond Shareholder.

My bad, News Flash. NOT all Drifters live in SoCal. Some are in other places... like NorCal and even maybe MidCal. Lol who gives a fuck.

Seriously though. I was wrong about the location of ALL the 20 so odd Drifters. though it was a general comment not meant to disparage the Drifter.

If I wanted to do that I’d talk about how much heavier it is and more expensive. Oh and not as low profile either. Hahah. Buy what you want but if you don’t want to hear about the GFC get off the thread

So you have a vested interest in defending the Vagabond. Guess that explains most all your ultra defensive comments.

Because he’s seen both in person prior to making a purchase he’s defensive? Orrr he bought a better product (his opinion that he’s allowed to have) that clearly focuses on quality over quantity.

The idea that it’s okay to have a few that leak/don’t close/remove panels during transport/frozen latches/ etc in the first place is this whole issue. Those aren’t options or preferences. Those are flaws.

Issues that shouldn’t come up do all the time and you guys continue to defend them. How about limited/no overall flaws?! Is that too much to ask of a vendor?

Oh wait, one here doesn’t have a vendor status... my whole point is moot
