I know the roof holds 500 lbs but can you just stand on top of the camper without damaging the roof?

Just picked up my camper 4 days ago! First things first.. build quality is definitely top notch which most have said. Also the guys that did my after hours install were some of the nicest people and clearly care so much about customer satisfaction. They spent almost an hour getting everything just right and weren't satisfied with the position on my truck and kept adjusting until they thought it was just right. We drove straight south out of Bozeman and camped at the base of the road up to big sky. probably a low of about 5-10 degrees that night. Fired up the buddy heater for 30 min while just hanging and drinking beer in the comfort of the camper and really warmed the place up quite nice. We then killed the buddy heater, hopped in warm sleeping bags and slept like a rock. I actually got hot in the middle of the night even without the heater running. Quality sleeping bags make all the difference but overall its a pretty warm setup. We woke up to 4-6 inches of snow. Packing up was a little tough I think due to cold temps and new camper with stiff canvas but not impossible. Left one cushion in the middle out as instructed which worked well. Overall very impressed with the whole experience so far. Only bad thing to report was condensation... Not really much options to camp in a way to avoid condensation as it was quite cold and very moist outside. Hard thing is you are then folding up a wet camper on the cushions on which you plan to sleep the next night. Definitely need to work on this one to figure out how to mitigate or at least lessen condensation in these conditions though I'm not quite sure how to do so just yet. The buddy heater of course makes things worse as well. Surely doesn't make me unhappy with my decision and otherwise I think it's gonna be awesome for future use. Thanks again to the people at GFC who are working their butts off to make a great product that they 100% stand behind. IMG_20181230_080457.jpg IMG_20181228_191632.jpg

I keep a towel for wiping down the interior before folding. Then hang the towel inside to dry.

Was there much condensation on the side panels?

It would be great if GFC would design a low profile fan for the roof. There are low noise USB fans that they could integrate into their lighting kit. Maybe have 2 fans: one for inlet and one for exhaust. You would keep them on 24/7.

I have one in a gun safe, I don’t think it’s up to the task of handling the kind of condensation you’re talking about.

    I have the exact one.
Not sure if it's better than nothing, but the beads do turn color after a while, so it's absorbing moisture

Those look like they would work though rather expensive. Two of them would be nice. I wonder if the battery would stay charged in a PNW winter. I used a similar product on my old sailboat, this looks like a new improved version.

I've just been using my jetboil to cozy things up while hanging out in the evening. Even with the small windows cracked it makes enough difference I don't think I'm going to get a buddy heater.

19 degrees (F) this morning - making coffee and breakfast downstairs warmed things up nicely for getting dressed.

There’s still plenty of sunlight to keep them charged if the panels are of decent quality. The downside to these might be how far the fan protrudes inside, it might be far enough that you’d need to leave a back corner bed panel out. Benefit of that would be circulating air throughout the bed and tent area while closed up.

You haven't missed anything. Waiting on kinsmen to contact me when they have prototype mounts done. They still have my deposit and we are still moving forward.

In other Go Fast news, got a new toy for christmas to Go Fast in. Excited to hit the trails hard in 2019.
