Don't have mine yet but here are the pros and cons that I can think of:

    Pros:
    -You can see through them
-They give the camper a more finished look in my opinion

    Cons:
    -More expensive
    -More weight
    -Theives can see your gear
    -The camper gets hotter

I went with front and rear windows on my build. Some good blinds will take care of a couple of those cons.

I dont believe theyre universal but i could measure bolt spacing. You can get 270s cheaper but strength and set up time are totally different. Obviously, to each there own. Its all about your goals and what you want/need.

I don't have my camper yet (it is now in production), but I did order just the front window. I mostly decided to not get the rear to keep the contents less visible. I do have a backup camera and intend to get an aftermarket camera that I can mount up on the rear of the GFC to improve the area I can see. If you have just the front window you could open the rear panel on the GFC just for when you're backing up. For myself, if I didn't have a backup camera I would at least get a front window. You might want to consider not getting the back window and using that $200 savings towards a backup camera.

Backup cameras stop working about 5 minutes after driving in the snow where I live. At least the one that came with my truck.

The Kinsman is super high quality and easy to set up like you said, but saving $1100-$1600 by buying a Rhinorack and having 90% of the functionality is a decent trade-off in my opinion.

I'm on the shore but could easily make my way down to kits, if it doesn't work out with Henry i'll shoot you a message. I'm not in too much of a hurry to check one out and it seems it might work out nicely on his way back.

    Thanks!

I don’t really want to lift my taco but with the GFC and the decked system with gear is pretty heavy. Will a set of air bags be enough ? Or should I replace the rear springs also ? Are there any HD springs that don’t provide much lift ?

I do seem to spend a fair amount of time cleaning the backup camera off in the winter time. It works but gets dirty every time I drive it in snow or wet conditions.

    It's DLX son!
I got front and back windows - and really like having them. I tinted the rear one with 20% ceramic tint after seeing @gman36 results and it's perfect. From the cab it's still plenty of visibility looking through the rear-view mirror, but you have to stick your face up to the window to see into the bed.

I may eventually make my own boot material to replace the window that's up against the cab if GFC doesn't get around to it.

Have mine without windows. It's similar to towing, just use your side windows. Not a huge deal. I haven't noticed any issue. You have more blind spots, but just be aware more. I know tacomas have a mod for always on camera which is like $50 or so. I was planning this route eventually which is a nice medium for my taste: http://www.argusmirror.com/?fbclid=IwAR0O3LkHOLxm2dB9Z46wPI9ypG0gGAShwb5m2E_uhsnFQIqNoRgK6RVyVQc

Based on instagram pics, the rear window also stops working when driven in snowy conditions. https://www.instagram.com/p/BtEDkbDhTUF/

Any recent feedback on adding a side door with ladder? I've searched and found a few comments, but wondering if anyone out there wish they ordered it with or without the side doors.

My primary reasons are to let the wife exit without removing the panels, waking the kids below and that I may also get a 270 deg awning as well.

If the side door option was available when mine was built I definitely would have gotten it for the same reason you mentioned. Although you gotta keep in mind future upgrades too. I.e. I am looking to get a 270 awning so I'd make sure I put the side door on the desired side.

Can the ladder not be used out the front opening if the tailgate is closed?

Back from powder coat and in assembly. The email I got says after everything is assembled, there is a one week cure process for the hinge seals. Definitely glad to be getting the new seals so I don’t have to retrofit
