Potentially so. Took me awhile to make a decision on saying yes to it at the old price with lead time. Now with another $700 added and insane lead time pretty much puts me out. It would take 10 more customers to make up for the difference of losing 1 sale at this higher price. I think there is a fine line between keeping people in or out and making the profits needed to make it worth while.

Ultimetly I don't blame GFC for it. It's business and they need to do what works best for them. But I feel a lot of people in the same position as me may just let go of the idea. At 5k I was definitely in, just couldn't pull the trigger at the time due to chronic illness. At $6250 I was wavering but finally decided yes. At $6,950 I'm 90% out. Sucks cause I love the idea as it would make my current situation to get out more with my health much easier. Will just see what the future brings. I still very much wish them the best of luck with their business. They seem like great people and I hope to possibly work with them in the future.

THIS is very true and smart on GFC's part! Makes quite a bit of sense considering their situation! Great work and best to you all!!!

Trust me, the last thing we want is lead times over a year. But we also aren't in this business for a quick cash grab by ramping production and putting out a product that isn't up to our standard of quality. We do everything in our power to estimate realistic timelines, and sometimes with new manufacturing processes unexpected issues can come up, but we continue to get faster at solving these problems and staying up to speed.

Our number one priority is sustainable long term growth, and anyone who questions that effort is simply dead wrong. If you disagree, come to the shop. I will show you the entire operation, and you will get an understanding of what it takes to run a business that is nearly entirely vertically integrated.

This I agree with! I think things may have blown up a lot faster for them than expected. I honestly think for such a rapid growth they have handled it AMAZINGLY well! There will be issues and you can't always fix them right away. But considering how rapid orders came in for them they have done an amazing job! This would have sunk or overwhelmed many people.

I knew I was getting a smoking deal when I prepaid for mine (20 something on list and 40 something to prepay - I was too cheap to pay for the CC fee and sent a check). I am not surprised in the least bit at the increasing cost. It's still a good deal when you consider the price of a decent canopy and RTT. But, I have to say - it would be harder for me to pull the trigger at 7k...

This. I would rather wait a year (#478!!!) for a quality product then have a crappy product today. Keep up the good work GFC.

#478 , man I'm jealous I'm #479 and can't wait. Bought as a replacement for the four wheel camper on my first gen taco, but if they are serious about building one for a first gen 4runner I might need to start shopping for a new (old) rig.

I put my deposit down October 14, 2018. I first found this GFC thread in in mid September and haven't stoped obsessing over it since. I was nervous about committing to such a long wait but feeling good about it now. Still got a ways to go. #361. What I have learned most about the wait so far is that it really gives you time to consider if this is right for you.

You're right, it sounds like you might need a little more time to consider too... I will graciously trade you my #560 spot so you don't have to put the pressure on about such a big decision .

They look very beefy. I imagine just two of them would be adequate for an ARB 2000 clone.

GFC doesn't show the dimensions on their site. Could you give me the spacing for the holes that connect the bracket to the awning extrusion? Thanks.

Here you go. I worked on these when mounting my eezi awn and working with kinsmen on new brackets.

Thank you! It looks like they will fit my awning. Actually I don't have
    ARB but an inexpensive clone.
