    It's DLX son!
Curious what it looks like on the back side of the panel when the third brake light is installed there. Definitely makes a rear awning easier.

Yeah, definitely curious to see how they route the wiring when it’s on the rear panel. Seems like it would be difficult to make it clean on something that hinges vs a static part like the extrusion.

Mine starts assembly this week, should know first hand soon.

Probably just a hole with a wire leading from it. It's difficult to get over the fear of drilling any holes in my precious camper. I'm going to be strong and overcome this phobia. :D I like the idea of having a small, easy to set awning that would cover the rear area for short stops.
Perhaps you could make a small triangular panel that would span the space between the side and rear awnings.

I'd prolly still go with a side awning. I'm not an awning expert, had a Sidewinder II wrist-crank, similar to ARB, but this 10' Fiamma F45S I'm sporting now is one stout unit.

It flexes about eight different ways, and easy to crank in. I've cranked it in solo in 25mph crosswind on the awning side, I have an anemometer so I know 25mph is legit.

I haven't installed the body mount sideleg anchors yet, https://www.gowesty.com/product/awn...g-to-body-mounting-brackets-for-fiamma-awning. Been using this ground kit for the sidelegs https://www.gowesty.com/product/awnings-screen-rooms/4436/fiamma-awning-ground-stake-plate-kit-

Very cool. I have the same color truck and I'm debating black, grey or asking for color match to the Cement Gray. Do you have a side shot to share? I was going with gray or black frame but seeing your red really makes me want that now!

3 out of the 4 in that pic have it on the rear door, and the one going out the door first is on the extrusion. I bet that's the new standard. at first I thought maybe it was something to do with getting a rear window but that doesn't add up. it definitely does make more sense for the rear awning mount.

It looks like the rear window is smaller too. I wonder if you can still get the rear light on the extrusion as an option.

I wonder if those might be XLs so the panel is larger making the window look smaller. This is the Tacoma I mentioned earlier. Not sure what other pictures they might have on instagram, I don’t have an account so I can’t see everything they post.

My guess is that they made the change to standardize designs between the camper tent and the standalone tent - common parts for ease of manufacturing.

I’m most likely going out of the country for a year or more in a couple months. If anyone wants a GFC (#16 if I remember right) without a long wait I may be willing to sell mine. The price would be whatever the current price of a GFC is ($6850 now with windows like mine) because my plan would be to turn around and reorder a new one to be produced and ready for pickup around when I’d be back in the states. It’s not a smoking deal by any means but if someone has more money than patience and wants to come to Alaska it could work out.

Here is the best side shot I have. I was debating getting color match on the panels too, but in the end feared it might look too monochromatic, kinda like a panel van. So only paying for one custom color was nice and I am happy I got the red. It looks awesome when opened up and still subtle when closed.

I do not. I had a pretty good idea of how I wanted things set up and just started building it out. I’m more than happy to get measurements and a list. But please give me some time, I have a busy week ahead.

I’m not completely done with it, but will get pictures and details once I have some time.

Thanks. I love the duratracs. They are relatively quiet and are incredible in the snow. I would still do it the same if I had to do it all over again. The Light Racing UCAs are able to get rid of almost all of the rubbing. The driveability of the 3rd gen is a little frustrating. The motor makes a lot of power and screams at 3500 and up, just wish it had more low end torque (which I know is made worse by my oversized tires). I know gears would fix it, but also waiting to see what @OVTune comes up with for his turbo setup. Hoping it's two small turbos that spool quickly and give the truck a lot more low end. Currently I have OVTune's 1.05 91 octane Gear Lock tune on the truck. That file was made available for my ECU right after I picked up the GFC. The gear lock is great. 1st and 2nd gear redline at 6,800 now and it's pretty fast for a truck! ...but it's crushing gas! ...getting 14.5 with the GFC and the tune right now. On my next tank I'm going to try the 87 octane tune with the gear lock and see how that does. The weight that I'm adding (tires, sliders, GFC, buildout, etc) combined with how much elevation change I drive through are all contributing factors that I know aren't helping me.

But oh yeah, you asked about tires! I like em! hahaha.

Yep, I know that I'm making it worse. Not in the cards right now to do anything about it anyway. Plus I want to see how the turbo setup unfolds. If he goes with two babies and they spool up quick it could be great. I will wait to see how that all shakes out and the pricing versus regearing. Also will want to see how fuel economy goes on the turbo setup.

Let's get OVTune to develop a KERS system like F1 where battery packs spool the turbos for you! No lag at all!! ha!
