Hey guys I know it's been discussed in here before but it's normal for the top section of extrusion to have a bow in the sides? Both sides of my tent extrusion bow outward.

Picked up my #191 GFC today. Here are a few pictures of it on the way back home and with my trials bike loaded up and awning installed and deployed after I got back home.

Just saw one of these in person....how does everyone lock themselves in the camper? I noticed there are any handles inside the Panels to shut them.

All the bed panels installed? If so I’d try taking the center out and leaving just the rear panels in and shut it. If it closes and everything lines up right I’d chalk it up to tent material bunching up due to the limited space/tight tolerance when closed. Might get better as the material breaks in or you adapt to packing the tent in different. If it’s still bowed with the panels out I’d be concerned that the top and bottom halves are different lengths. Do the locking pins/holes line up right?

I just shut the sides, climb in the bed, shut the tailgate and pull the hatch down. There isn’t a production way to actually lock the camper shut from the inside that I know of. A few guys have made little pieces that insert on the inside of the latches to jam them shut so they can’t be opened from the outside. I’ve never had a reason to lock myself in. I have latched the rear hatch on myself on purpose when there was a ton of mosquitos one night. In the morning I just reached down through the tent backdoor and popped the latches open.

Call GFC but I think it's probably 'within spec'. There is some variation in the extrusions.

I have the 2 small panels out and the 25"x50" pulled all the way to the rear. It closes easily and without much effort at all.

You have a swing out on the bumper, right? With mine open I get a slight misalignment/bowing of the top and bottom when I close the tent. Everything evens out after closing the swing out and driving for a minute and the truck straightens back out.

I have dual swingouts, and even after driving it seems to still look like that. I might try to get some better pictures and see what the guys at GFC have to say. It's not bad, and it doesn't bother me I'm just trying to make sure it doesn't cause issues down the road.

Couldn’t agree more but it also takes a little stupidity to and learning sometimes for me and others to realize this.
This is one of the main reasons I sold my heavily outfitted 2016 for a bone stock used 2017.
I wanted to start over. I realized from the past 2+ week road trips and daily driving that I didn’t need a lot of the shit on and in my truck. It was a tacklebox of anxiety and I needed to start over with just the basics.
That trip was our first together and we have come a long way since then.
While on that trip I left a new 10x10’ fold up canopy and table at the camp checkin and told them it was free to a good home. We relized it was over kill and just taking up valueable space.
    You live and learn.

You're the only one I've seen that has an inferno truck with orange frame. Does it match pretty well? My brother's truck is inferno and he wants the orange as long as the 2 oranges don't clash. Do you have any other pics of your truck you can share? I'd be curious to see a closeup of the frame and truck with a panel open if it's not too much trouble.

Ya a few of us have it, no one seems to be interested though. I don't think it is normal considering most of them are pretty spot on. I definitely think its a QC issue, but they are pretty behind schedule so they let these campers out the door.

I think you mean "climb" the matterhorn. One could also argue that guys "hike" everest with truckloads of gear needing multiple people and animals just to get that gear to base camps....

now what was your point again? and in a glorified over engineered roof top tent thread? maybe if your comment was in a thread about sleeping under your truck with a tarp over you (a guy I have camped with in the past always slept like this) then maybe the matterhorn and "less is more" would make more sense...

i guess I need to start drinking beers with breakfast

I hiked it, but sure, most people find they have to climb it. You just gotta believe in yourself.

For those that already have their GFCs, how's the dust situation? We've thousands of miles of dirt forestry services roads her in the south east that are fun to explorer, but it if hasn't rained in a while they can get super dusty. Any issues with dust in the campershell? Even with my bed cover, most of my gear is completely covered in dust. I'd like to be able to leave my bedding in the camper instead of inside the cab so we have a little more room for people and less bedding inside.
