How much are we talking for weight?

My vice with any sort of RTT or cap etc is that they are often too heavy to remove often.
Me using my truck as a daily driver as well I'd prefer something I can take on and off easily.

Total weight for the soft sided version will be 199 lbs. Aluminum sided will be a bit more but not much. That was part of the motivation for the 6" closed height. I wanted something I could leave on most of the time. And the entire roof can be a rack, there's actually a reason to leave it on if you use your truck for work.

Of course its no longer for sale, as I said, thats why theyre in such high demand. Used flippacs go for anywhere from 4000-5000 for one in very good condition.

Same can be said for RTTs and bed racks. Yes you can pay a crazy price new but in many cases you can get RTTs in excellent if not mint condition with a bed rack and soft topper underneath it. Ive seen multiple combos in my area (Ontario, Canada) in the last year for under 3500 CAD all in for a rack, soft topper and rtt which is basically this.

Quick google search and you can get an ARB RTT for 2000, are you seriously telling me that a soft topper and hard bed rack are going to be 3000? Definitely not. There are ways of doing an overland build that are significantly cheaper than this.

Yes habitat is 8500, its also crazy over priced and they havent sold anywhere near as many as Flippac did when they were still around. Why? Price vs function.

Youll have a hard time selling something that does the same thing as something else which is cheaper

Yes hard top tents are in general a little more expensive. My argument: is the extra minute or two you save collapsing it worth the price tag that comes with it vs a traditional RTT?

The amount of RTTs you see on the road/in these forums says no, its not worth it

Ahh. Depends on your lift of course, but if you don't mount roof bars you'd be 7" taller than the antenna. Might fit. Unless you park in caves :)

Bro Toronto are full of idiots that want to choke off the city core to anything besides a tiny electric car.

A lot of underground's are like 6'2". I know of two that are reasonably priced and 6'6". And with lift I'm sitting at 6'4" to top of the antenna.

There's no where to park lol.

AT first I thought the 5k range price tag was nuts, but after pricing out very similar folding hard shell RTTs, seems going range is around 3500 average and I guess when you factor in added modularity plus the entire rack, makes more sense.

I guess you can wait for someone to sell this one used when they get tired of it and you won't have to worry about the $5k price tag.

In the $3200 ballpark for the upper portion by itself with a solid (no pass-through) floor.

This looks fantastic and I’ve loved all your other products. The design looks great and being lightweight is a huge selling point for me. What do I have to do to get a beta unit :)

    :fingerscrossed:

Any idea what shipping would be on this or would I be better off coming to pick it up? I need an excuse to goto Montana again and I think this might be it…

Interesting product. Are you expecting the lower alu-covered 'shell' to be as dustproof as a regular camper shell? Is the rear canopy gonna have a window?

The $5000 price will include shipping in the lower 48. That said, you should come out to Montana to pick it up :)

As far as dust and water resistance go, it will be similar to a fiberglass topper or a soft topper.

So with the aluminum body as the camper, will the cost still be at $5k even? And maybe 299 lbs? I would never feel comfortable with a softtopper of any sort, and if i was to purchase, it would def have to be an aluminium body.
