That's the one. He's got his own boat now but he worked on that one for years.

Is your friend's first name Jay? That's great he got his own boat and I assume net and seine permit. The salmon fishery in SE Alaska is very well managed so he should expect to make a nice living.

His name is Tom, tall lanky dude. Yeah we talked a lot in college about how well managed the fisheries are up there. I almost went up and joined him for a season but couldn't make the timing work. He really loves it.

50”x25”. If you have a short bed you don’t need a build, just lay the long piece across the wheel wells and lean the two squares against the cab side wall.

If I were to buy someone’s spot... what would be the smoothest way to handle it and verify that gfc is tracking the transfer

I just did this. The original spot holder will email GFC and CC the buyer. The email will state that the seller wants to give up his spot to the buyer. The buyer will reply that he is willing to take over the spot. After the $ changes hands the buyer will let GFC know then you will see your name move up the list. I hope this makes sense. PM me if not
I also have a spot available if your interested .

i did my own. it took two seconds once you got the tail light out. and the taps they give you are about as easy as it gets with this stuff. doesnt really do any damage to factory wires, can just remove the gfc end and leave the taps in place. i can also show how i routed my wiring when i get out to my truck later. no drilling necessary

Thanks. I'd love to see how you routed it.

Mine is tapped into the left taillight harness. The wires run down the tube frame and between the edge of the light and truck body inside the bed. Quick, simple and unobtrusive.

I’m trying to bug the GFC guys as little as possible, I’m also planning on driving to them to pickup/install and want to minimize the chance of any gotchas. Any installation snafu’s outside having to trim the larger 2g sharkfin antenna?

I think that the shark fin trim is only required if you are running lower profile bed rails like KB Voodoo.

Nope, it went smooth and easy with mine and we had to lift it on, no hoist back then.

Just wanted to post a quick timeline shot of the GFC process so far with my order. I still haven't picked it up but have schedule the days off work to make the journey to Bozeman.

    *Ordered on 7/30/2018.

*Order confirmed on 8/6/2018 with an ETA of 2/18/2019 for build start date.

*Notified of "Ready for Production" status on 12/10/2018.

*Received the "In Production" email on 2/7/2019.

So even after everything that has gone on with GFC and all the talk in the last 6 months they still are ahead of schedule by 11 day (for my build that is). Couldn't be more excited to pick it up now!
