If you're going to be there be sure to check out AEV. They have a special surprise that everyone will be drooling over. I won't spoil their surprise, but it'll more than likely steal the show. Hint: It'll be Chevy related ;)

Silly question, but does the GFC overhanging the sharkfin antenna interfere with XM sat radio reception?

Also, seconding the ask if anyone has gotten a color match, specificly in Cement? Or a pick of a Cement Taco with the stock grey GFC?

Not on my second gen. I have the small puck type antenna, not the sharkfin and the GFC sits about an inch over the top of it.

This would be super nice if they did. Those tubes love water.

I'm going, may or may not stop by the GFC booth. Maybe i'll ask again if they could fix my extrusions.

The top extrusions bowed out slightly. There have been others on here with the same issue.

Hey anyone rig up a fly rod or fishing rod mount yet using the GFC rails? I don't want to purchase some $500 holder, there's a better way.

Yakima or Thule ski and snowboard racks have worked for a very long time. No reason to think it would work here on a set of round bars.

The driver side was pretty much straight (I forgot exactly what it was), but passenger was 6mm out between top and bottom extrusion. I’m assuming the extrusions are both cut equal length. The passenger side is a super tight fit which makes it hard to close. Most likely because the passenger side is “short” from the bowing.

Anyone that has been to GFC lately have any info when the new awning brackets will be available?
I went to order some on they’re website so I could have them for my install next month but the website says:

“Currently on backorder due to design revision to add compatibility with more awnings/products.”

They had a shot of the new design on instagram a few days ago. Think they're hoping to have them completed pretty soon if I recall correctly.

I talked with them about it. Was given a "we'll have more info when everyone is back from expo". Fair enough, but not sure if that means they will start to stock them soon or made to order or what.

I'm still really looking forward to that lighting kit.

I made the mistake of looking in my email to see if i actually paid for it or not. The number of unanswered emails i've sent GFC is remarkable.

I have to admit i have a perverse admiration for how GFC has developed a product that sells itself regardless of customer service.

Just get sumo mounts. I run the suction cup sumo mounts and have never had a hiccup.
Keeping your rod rigged up 24/7 on top of your truck in a case just seems kind of lazy.
I feel like those cases are more of a statement than anything. Why do you need your fly rods ready to go at the grocery store.
Do they even fit a Spey rod?
