Who's going to Overland Expo West? There's a lot of vendors listed; I've made a list of must sees, but I'm sure I'll miss something good just wandering around. What caught your eye and what are you most curious about?

First stop: GFC; then into the maze. I'm driving a Colorado diesel so I'm interested in Icon who seem to have the most Chevy suspension systems, I've noted three solar vendors: Sunflare, Zamp Solar and Overland Solar. I'm most interested in the thin, flexible units since there's a huge weight difference; the glass/silicone units would really cut into the bikes, SUP's, etc. the gas struts could lift; CBI Off Road Fab LLC for skid plates and armor; Big Agnes to take a look at their comforter; and, of course, Dometic and ARB for something to hook to the solar (maybe even inquire about price for air lockers for the Chevy); Rigid to see if they have something I like for the tent (unless GFC is planning the eminent release of a lighting system)

If you are looking for Colorado stuff I highly recommend checking out PEAK Suspension. He has a ton of Colorado knowledge and will have his on display in his booth as well.

When I was up there a weekend or two back, they were still getting "tooling" ready for it.

Didn't get an ETA, but it sounded like the concept and product selection was done.

If you're going to be there be sure to check out AEV. They have a special surprise that everyone will be drooling over. I won't spoil their surprise, but it'll more than likely steal the show. Hint: It'll be Chevy related ;)

Oops! I wasn't getting the context. Just the outer straight tubes.

To be clear, it's only going to be aluminum for the front/rear cross bar (the tube that's exposed to the elements), not the entire frame :)

Silly question, but does the GFC overhanging the sharkfin antenna interfere with XM sat radio reception?

Also, seconding the ask if anyone has gotten a color match, specificly in Cement? Or a pick of a Cement Taco with the stock grey GFC?

Not on my second gen. I have the small puck type antenna, not the sharkfin and the GFC sits about an inch over the top of it.

XM works the same as before I had the GFC (on my 3rd gen), so no issues there.
Haven't seen a color match on a Cement taco yet...

This would be super nice if they did. Those tubes love water.

I'm going, may or may not stop by the GFC booth. Maybe i'll ask again if they could fix my extrusions.

The top extrusions came bent, bowed out. There have been others on here with the same issue. Almost .5in out on one side which causes the whole top to be out of square and it makes it difficult to close.

Ohh, right. I remember. I assume you measured and showed pictures to the team @ GFC? Is one of the long sides longer than the other? Or is the extrusion in front/back longer/shorter, thus pushing things out?

EDIT: Nevermind, found your post. I assume you measured 5-6mm between the top and bottom passenger side extrusion? What was the measurement on the driver side? Also, which side is hard to put in when closing?

Hey anyone rig up a fly rod or fishing rod mount yet using the GFC rails? I don't want to purchase some $500 holder, there's a better way.

Yakima or Thule ski and snowboard racks have worked for a very long time. No reason to think it would work here on a set of round bars.
