I haven't used my ladder yet because I'm waiting for my new tent with side access, but it is basically the generic ladder with a hook attachment to the end. The hook secures over the lip of the lower part of the tent when it is opened.

    Similar to this one https://www.amazon.com/WolfWise-Alu...ft&qid=1562030131&s=gateway&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1

That was the ladder I was looking at on Amazon. I think I’ll go that route and fashion my own hook, if I even need to.

I just bagged my truck this past weekend. Firestone Ride Rites...

Install was super easy (much easier if you use your factory leaf packs!!!) i had to weld in an extension to mine in order for the brace to reach the axle (since my leaf pack is MUCH thicker) that said I really like them. Not sure they’re needed with just a GFC but weight adds up fast. FWIW mine is being designed around my new setup that’s in excess of 1000lbs hence the need for bags.

I did the DayStar Cradles while i was in there too....

Nice write up on the Firestone Ride Rites. Great pictures too. When do you get the new rig?

It’s basically that exact ladder but with a bracket riveted to it. It’s a piece of sheet metal with a slight bend so it can hook onto the extrusion. You could definitely fashion something yourself. It does do a good job of keeping the ladder secure even when the feet are on uneven ground though.

I will be as soon as possible! Just away in Africa for work right now and not sure the exact date I will be back, just know it will be some time in July. Toured the shop last year before I ordered because I was passing through Yellowstone. The GFC’s are an amazing product with great guys making them. They’re definitely worth the wait and more than worth the cost of them. I am really looking forward to a lot of trips with this camper!

Well, 4400 miles in 6 days was a lot, but it was a blast! @6spdshift and myself got to take in a lot of cool places and put the GFC to the test. We hit 4 national parks, a few national monuments and a bunch of national and state forests. I love the GFC. It's a well designed and thought out product, it opens and closes really easy. I love the side door, 100% must add item!

Once I get the mattress situation figured out I think it will be the perfect camper for my needs. Also, once we left the world of 85mph speed limits and prairie winds I got 17mpg on the way home. Better than with my rack and RTT.

Tons of pics and videos to edit into a trip report and vlog soon, but here is a couple quick snaps from my IG.

Is there anyone here with Kings, 285’s and a gfc fitting in 7ft garages? If so, how many threads do you got showing on your coilovers?

I wouldn’t get too hung up on that as it’s not going to answer your question. Everything is relative. Spring rate, tire load rating, air pressure, additional weight you carry, hell even how much gas is in your tank will skew it. Best advise is to measure YOUR truck from above the bed sides to see how much room you have to work with.

Nah that’s useless. I don’t have my gfc so I don’t know where my bedsides will be post gfc install.

Maybe just add 275 pounds of weight into your bed and measure? :notsure:

    Makes too much sense.

I have 12 threads on mine and have no problems with doors

It barely clears. Probably won’t after I put 255/85r16s on and for sure won’t after I add the MaxxFan Mini to the roof.

So with that being said, I’m going to go out on a limb and say “no”. It won’t fit in a 7’ garage.

Might take me a little bit. Still planning it out. The fan is on the way but I’m also in the process of buying a new crib (the one pictured above).
It’s going to be so nice to be able to offload my shit into a garage, work or projects in there, have a place to park and wash my truck in the driveway.
    Apartment life sucks.

My Tacoma is 70.6” tall (all stock TRD OR). Even if you add a generous 8” to the roof of the cab, you get 78”. Still 6” shy of 7’.

Is that a 7’ garage door pictured?

3rd gens must have really tall bedsides. My second gen has 285/75/16s and is lifted with Dakar heavies and sits at 81” (6’9”) to the top of the GFC when the rack bars and 4’ antenna aren’t included. That’s with only about 30lbs in the bed and a half tank of gas.
