After MONTHS of waiting, post reading, Instagram stalking, and about a 19hr drive, it was well worth the wait!

Nothing but good things to say about the guys in the shop! Super cool dudes that answered every question I had, even some I didn’t.

A question that never did get solved until today was about the antenna delete for the 2nd gen. Matthias 3D printed the one you see above as the 4Runner one didn’t fit right, (different sized screws). Definitely a must do mod.

Some good news about the rusty/water filled tubes - replacements are almost ready and will be shipped out for swaps. I did not get the new tube in mine unfortunately.

The new tent material is noticeably darker and lighter weight than the old stuff, the tent is super easy to close, the zippers have been upgraded, and the window flaps now have pockets!

Coming soon: light bar mounts for front extrusion. I went for this option instead of the wind skid and the mounts are minimal yet solid.

Unfortunately had to drive a bit more today so no pictures yet of the new new. I’ll snap some in the morning if anyone is interested.

Sorry for my ignorance but why is this a must-do mod? Is this because you do not have stock bed rails thus the shark fin has to be replaced?

    ...too much shit to list.
My shark fin used to contact the Drifter with “spirited” off-roading. The rear part of the frames on these trucks flex sooooo much. It’s basically just 2 ply sheet metal bent into c-channel.

Are the antennas on the 3rd gen and 2nd gen the same?

No. The 3rd Gen has two antennas in side. The new one if for XM / Sirius. There were pics earlier in this thread, unless they disappeared?

Has there ever been talk of future side window options?

Do any of the new campers have the new tube? What build number are you? I am going at the end of the month to get mine.

Any chance the rest of us could get a copy of the STL file for the part Matthias printed? I was planning to do the hacksaw and epoxy method as described by others on this thread. But, a 3D printed part would be much better.

I was emailing with Torrey at GFC and they said that once marked for in production your camper is most likely to be completed in 8 to 10 weeks rather than the six to eight weeks that has been quoted in the past.

No, they said the process hasn't been finished yet, but once it has they'll be sending them out to everyone, no charge obviously.

    You'd have to ask them.

This is closer to reality, but add two more weeks just to be safe unless you're getting it delivered, then add about a month.

How many weeks did it take for yours to be completed once marked In Production?

I got an email from her Monday saying they had a delay, but would not affect the production timeframe of our camper (I asked her if the 6-8 week production schedule was still valid).

Either there’s some contradictory information or it depends where you are in the queue?

8-10 weeks seems more realistic looking at the leaderboard though. That’s said, perhaps they haven’t got through the backlog and they’ll be another completion jump on the board.

For what its worth I just installed the following Toyota part number on a 2014 Tacoma. The replacement antenna fit perfectly and XM works fine. I do not have navigation so I can not speak to that....IMG_1989.jpg
