I like avoiding the front range, and even when I do go down, I don't take my truck.

If you find yourself up here you can stop by for a beer and oogleing.

Arghh! I keep slacking on going by the bank to get checks/cashiers checks, I need to get my spot locked down. This check thing, or paying a bunch extra fees for CC processing is a bummer. Not a knock on the guys at GFCs, but more a reflection of the state of the banking options for small businesses.

Really struggling with if I want to pay extra for the windows, and what color would look best with my white 2011 AC. Torn between black for contrast and white for, well, matching I guess.

Has a decision been made on the tent frame extrusion colors? It looks like the most current prototype that went to Baja was a slightly different color than the black side panels, but still darker than the silver frame on the early test mule.

TL:DR - Will the tent frame extrusions match the side panels, or will they all be gunmetal?

I might take you up on that. I have an AT Habitat and would really like to compare side-by-side with the GFC.

Dammit! I really have read every page, and somehow missed that detail on the tent frame. Knew about the space frame colors. Thanks.

Where are the photo-shoppers that can help me picture what white side and back panels would look like with the "forge gray" tent and space frame underneath?

What color combos are people leaning towards?

I also have a white AC and am torn between black sides or white. I am leaning more towards black though because of the contrast, I think having all white solid pannels will be too much white without anything to break it up, especially with no side windows. :notsure:

You don’t have to decide now on anything but additional windows (i choose none) there will be pictures of actual ones long before you have to make your color choice when your build number comes up. Just place the order pay and when it’s your turn they’ll let you choose your options.

And the additional fees have nothing to do with “the state of small business” these guys don’t want to absorb a 2-3.5% discount on every camper that the CC charges them.

Where do you think your cash back, or airline miles come from? The merchant, use a CC and pay the fees or don’t but lots of company’s have very similar policy. Heck every car dealer I’ve ever been too limits the deposit you can put down by CC for the same reason. No one likes to give money away. You wouldn’t accept a 3% pay cut if it made it easier for your boss to pay you, would you?

@socalktk, did you include the wiring harness? I'm getting ready to sell mine, and I'm debating whether I want to pull the power. I also have a Leer T connector that ties into the 7-pin. Be nice to leave that all in place.

IMVHO, I think the CaliRaised ones appear stronger. The ones linked above have very little metal and a large eyelet in the corner where all the load is going. The CR ones have a lot more section there. I would rather see the lower outboard corner filled a bit more or welded closed, but the highest load is going through that nice inboard chamfer. If I was ambitious and had a welder, I could do that area myself.

Thanks for the mock-ups sleevez! Also leaning towards black sides for my white truck, but I am eager to see one in white with their proposed branding/graphics. I have a huge white contractor shell on my 1st gen:
    EsyP-ZqFTvVkJSHndEwkFwz6DW6DWAMppf2asQb5_45f4d903e00427c359a34c4aa88818972769c045.jpg
And don't feel like it's too much white, but of course the windows break things up.

YOTA 4x4 - sorry to annoy you by discussing what colors folks are going with. I'm just trying to pass the time until these things start being made. I also understand how CC fees work and was not suggesting GFCs should eat the cost. My comment was that small businesses don't have the best options available to them. It is unfortunate and makes it harder for them to do business. For all the financial "instruments", artistic accounting, and smoke and mirrors that exist in the world of banking, I think there should be a way to exchange monies for goods and services between two individuals without a 3% fee, aside from sending a check via pony express.

I sold the wiring harness with the camper. He needed it for the brake lights and LED's in the shell. Woulda kept it if I didnt have to.

I'm curious how you had it wired up. I'm thinking of putting an AGM battery in the bed (I have a drawer/platform) and running a wire from the current battery (with an isolator). Then I would wire everything from the 2nd battery - I already have the panel, etc. This will keep things nicely isolated and tidy (IMHO). But, I'm curious what other folks have done.

    Sorry for the thread jack.

The shell was tapped into the brake light on the drivers side.

Your method sounds perfect. I need to run a secondary battery soon too. Ive been using a optima yellowtop in a marine box case to charge the fridge or any other things for longer trips when the trucks parked for more then 24 hours.

Thank you sir. I have experience with boats. Even more than with a truck - you've got to keep that cranking battery isolated....

The nice thing about AGM's is you don't have to worry about off-gassing.

    Cheers,
