Any word on transferability between generations? Mostly, will 2nd Gen GFC's fit on 3rd Gens, and vice versa? For all of us 2nd Gen owners who will inevitably und up in a 3rd Gen, this would be amazing to not have to upgrade our GFC's as well.

P.S. What kind of beer do you guys drink? Might have to bring a care package for install day!

Absolutely. Fortunately the dimensions between the two generations made it so the canopies will be interchangeable between generations with a few tweaks. Just a couple of revisions on the interface to the front bedrail and tailgate seal is all it takes. So no need to swap lowers or sell your camper to upgrade to the next model year.

And pacifico is good around here

That was a good question and the answer I was hoping for (except for the beer part, c'mon man!) since it's been in the back of my head as well. Yewwwww!

flush mount S2's, with an angled spacer to give you camp lights that shine down on the ground would be rad. Like they have on the side toy haulers. That would be cool.

We don't have any angle flush mounts for the S2 but do for the squadron:

I'm sure GFC will come up with something cool! We will have to wait and watch this thread to see what they offer. Either way, I'd like to add one to my Tundra down the road. :)

The GFC looks awesome. I am considering one for my 2018 ZR2 short bed Overlanding build. Some questions: Can I mount a Alu-Cab shadow awn or a similar styled bat wing awning to this? Is it compatible with a Decked truck bed storage system? Does it interfere with the XMSirius Radio and GPS antenna operation? Any plans to add a window that opens in the front to allow pass thru access to the truck cab?

You can attach lots using their T-nuts in the AL-channeling (might have to make your own bracket). Will likely interfere with sat-radio to some degree, gps likely not, but depends where it's located (different on many vehicles). No pass through, solid windows at bulkhead and rear liftgate are options.

Not sure about the radio reception however I’m apparently building my Tacoma VERY similar. Decked system is already here and i spoke with the guys at GFC and the will be making brackets specifically for the alu-cab shadow so yes and yes. I would kind of doubt the pass through window thing will happen. I actually ordered mine with no windows anyway (lighter and more secure).

One of the things i really liked about the GFC is the decked and GFC still come in at only 400lbs. Plus obviously your interior space with the decked, while shallower, is actually bigger (flat floor i mean). I also have a 63qt arb fridge with the Alu-cab tilting slide already sitting here ready to mount to the decked drawers once the GFC gets here... It’ll be on the passenger side to help balance out the weight. Hope this helps. I think the GFC is a perfect choice for that application.

Good looking out i forgot about that since here in a northern climate i didn’t think it would be of any use for me. Thanks

Don’t you mean passenger side? The fuel tank and battery are already on the drivers side.

JEEEEEEEZ Yes, I meant passenger side, I mocked it up that way on paper. I don't know if I've mentioned I work midnights so 7pm is like 7am for me, and I may have had a few Stardust IPA's before I went to bed so my head was definitely foggy. Yes, passenger side for the Fridge and slide, and I have a dual battery system from OGE on the way too (split to help keep the weight balanced). Actually for that matter my OME suspension has a spacer installed on the Drivers side too, so by the time I'm done I'll probably be leaning right lol.

Same difference right? hahaha. True that on the cold beer and hot tacos. Though you should probably pour that American horse piss down the sink haha
