How much did shipping end up being to where you are? I can't calculate it on their site without paying.

I guess 250-400 bucks. Just going off what bumpers and things have cost to ship. This thing is much larger though in size.

Primary reason for pre-order. If I didn't like the end product I would then pull my deposit. But imo there isn't anything else on the market at this price range (you can say drifter, but $1500 missing out of my pocket for less is just that). I'm in Michigan and can realistically drive over and get it as that drive is epic and I strongly recommend driving through SD up to N.Idaho, but will be shipping more than likely. For pre-orders they will take off $230 for not shipping it. I assume that would be your cost, but that's just speculation on my part.

I'm curious about shipping costs, too. I'm in NC. I posted a question about shipping earlier in the thread and sent an email, but haven't gotten an answer yet (not trying to call anyone out - I know they're balls to the wall trying to fulfill current orders). *If* it's around $250, based on the pre-order pick-up discount, that seems very reasonable.

If anyone that ordered post pre-order has a shipping estimate, I'd love to know what it is.

I wonder if they factored in sales tax with the pick up discount. Being they should be collecting it if you're picking it up, and $250 seems quite a bit less than shipping will actually cost.

Edit - disregard. MT doesn't have sales tax.

RE: Windows: Next camper will have them.

I am working through a backlog of emails, getting freight quotes takes a bit of time, but my apologies for not getting back to you sooner. We have indeed been pretty swamped.

We did a $250 discount for folks that pick up their camper in person, and that includes us installing the camper and spending some time getting everything sorted. Shipping varies quite a bit based on whether or not you want to ship to a commercial address or to residential, but commercial can typically range from 250-500 depending on what part of the country you are in.

If you have already pre-ordered and paid for shipping, we would be happy to reimburse you that money if you change your mind and want to pick it up in person. Like we have said previously, Bozeman is a pretty great place to start a trip. We are at the door to yellowstone, near jackson and not far from glacier. And I have beta on the dirt roads to take you between all of them...

    it works!

I had an inner tube between the sliding windows of the shell and truck. Totally keeps the dust out. The inner tube sucks though. It expands and contracts with elevation. Now I have a piece of foam pipe insulation in there.

The only downside is I like to wheel with my windows down. But for the fast wide open desert stuff it works great.

No worries, whatsoever. I felt silly even sending an email knowing y'all were/are balls to the wall getting these things out the door. I'd probably drive out and pick it up, anyway.

One last question, and then I'm going to leave y'all alone. For those of us who missed the pre-sale and haven't ordered yet, if I placed my order this week, what's a realistic month of completion? Gen. 2 Taco, 6' bed.

No worries, we hold ourselves to a high standard in every regard, so always working to have communication operating on the same level as our product.

We are realistically in early July.

    It's DLX son!
I'm leaning towards white after seeing production unit #1 on a white truck. I think the dark tube frame and extrusion contrast nicely with it. Also like the white interior to feeling brighter bigger with the side panels closed.

At the same time, the slight color difference between Toyota super white and the white powder coating color makes me want to see a white with black before fully deciding.

@socalktk - if the decision is too tough to make right now, I will take your spot and make a rushed decision :) That will give you a few months to think about it.

The 63qt is a little over 33” long the Alu-cab slide a pinch longer yet, so you’re correct, perhaps i can get a 5 gallon cube under there as well, though I’m not really sure the demensions of those cushions. That’s what I’m waiting till i get my GFC to build it and finalize plans.
