Pretty sure earlier discussion listed the small squares at 25"x25", and big rectangle at 25"x50". Of course - this could have changed for the current production design.

I guess looking st this photo i could assume its at very least 50”. Which would give me plenty of room for water behind the fridge.

    Good idea thanks....

I am also planning on an awning Alu-cab but not until GFC releases there brackets to interface with the extrusion. And realistically i can wait until next spring if i have to. Between this truck build and my new skiff/ SUP. purchase my wife is gonna make me live in my GFC if i order a $1500 awning in a month lol.

For orders placed now, you are basically able to change your mind up until we begin manufacturing your unit. Which is something we will call you about to confirm before we start making it.

    According to Wiley:

The fixed panel at the front is 50" wide and 40" long. The removable rectangle panel is 50" wide and 25" long, and the square removable panels are 25" x 25" each.

I also have a white Tacoma, but not sure if I should go gray or white. Wondering if the white is the same as the Toyota white and thinking maybe it just looks different due to the texture. @gmacmt with GFC going on so many Tacoma's, could you use the Toyota super white? Also wondering what gray will be used?

I'm curious about this too, where will they get shipped to? I think earlier someone mentioned that the GFC folks had spoken to some shops that might take the delivery and do the install (for an additional charge). I'd be interested in that as i don't have much of a driveway to do those things in at home.

Ordered! Hopefully I can get it by FJ Summit!

Any chance you guys can put up the exterior dimensions on the site?

I want to make sure an Eezi-awn will fit along the lower extrusion.

You can make a simple bracket for really cheap. Cut a section rectangular tubing and drill holes in both sides, one set that lines up with the GFC extrusion and one set that lines up with your awning backing. Just guessing a 1”x3” 1/8” rectangular tubing sectioned into suitable lengths would probably work. Won’t look as nice as what GFC is working up but will work to mount an awning until they get around to it.

Yeah I’m sure i can Fab one, not a big deal really but I’ll likely wait for the GFC version. I can live without an awning this year, i think, though I’ll be on the beach in FL for 2 weeks this fall so maybe I’ll change my mind before that.

Speaking of that @gmacmt whats the plan for fans? It’s HUMID out here in the east and that’s a major factor for me. Going to be something like a Fantastic Fan? Mounted through the roof, or did you guys have something different in mind? Very curious about ventilation down on the beach. Thanks

This thread should be re-titled: “the sound of 10,000 Rooftop tents being thrown in the landfill”

Nah, I’ll sell mine to some overlander wannabe schmuck and continue to enjoy my car camping with offroad capability.

I think once you use the term “over-lander”, “wannabe-schmuck” is implied.

so until this GFC arrives, you’re by default an “over lander wannabe schmuck”? Jeez. Good to see GFC is changing lives. Or were you the exception to everyone else that is using a RTT?

    ***edit***

Perhaps you weren’t implying all RTT owners are schmucks but that’s who you plan to sell yours too. Smart.

That’s me. I toss it on in the spring and leave it until the fall cause I’m too lazy to take it off. It’s a comfortable, easy way to camp and I’m glad I have the disposable income to waste on it, but I would never say I’m an “overlander”. People love the term but in my opinion and from what I’ve observed it’s usually just car camping with style.

Yeah i see it listed on the GFC website now for $150, I’m just wondering what that means.... solar roof mounted fan, i am having trouble picturing anything but a fantastic fan... with a solar cell? Idk I am ordering it either way.
