Does the Hondo phone mount restrict your A/C vent operation? Just wondering how you guys like it before I drop $140 on a phone setup. Thanks

I looked at the Hondo mount pretty closely and was worried about that same thing. Ended up making my own cheapo mount that's worked great.

Yes. You lose the ability to freely rotate the vent and get only at bit of movement of the vanes. You can loosen the mount to rotate if needed.

Regardless, the mount is great for the function and position.

I'm fine with the restrictions since there are 3 others and the cab is relatively small. I don't think 4 vents is entirely necessary.

There's a thread which show how guys using a dremel, grind out a small area of the vanes so you can open/close them (still can't rotate though). I just ordered the Perfect Squeeze setup last week and planning on doing the same. Just waiting on shipping confirmation.

I mounted mine to the right of the display with the ball mount. I still get the 2 driver vents, and my wife has to suffer . In all seriousness its worth it. Vents stay about 30% open.

You can install the mount with the vents wide open. Still no rotation, but the installation video shows the vents partially closed. That's not the case. . .

loved it but it does prevent full vent operation. I switched to expedition essentials ram mount woth usb port and love it. No more ac vent problems.

All it does it make it so it’s only half open and you can’t rotate it. I didn’t notice a difference in hearing or cooling capabilities before and after.

That might have been a typo? The vent mount, RAM balls and arm, and phone mount option is listed at $104.

I already had the RAM parts, so it was just the $35 for the nicely machined vent mount.

Also, just in case it comes up in other posts, the vent mount does not scuff the chrome vent rings, if that is a worry.

I didn't realize people have modded this to get around the partially closed vent -------- do you know where that thread is?

You lose a bit but not a big deal. Use the aux vent - I don't notice it, not even during SoCal summers

No need to mod...you can install with vent fully open as I did.

I love mine!!! Bought the Hondo mount and RAM mounts off eBay. Use it everyday and actually want to add one for passenger side. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy one!!! Great product!!!

This is how it rings up on the site. You buy the mount plus $104 extra for the setup.

I thought it was a little over priced.
