    Not to be a cynic, but you were honest.... he wasn't.
    He sold you the tire at 50%... and submitted the cut tire to BFG or Discount's warranty underwriter.

    You did the right thing, and he made $100 pure profit :p

    Long Travel Total chaos kit, fox shocks, smp fab , dmz sua, glassworks, method wheels.
    Maybe a little too honest . I would have most likely rode out the warranty .

    I just recently sold a client a $600 chlorine generator for his pool . One month later a valve either failed or was turned the wrong way . Generator was toast . I was able to get the generator warrantied even though it was most likely 85% operator error .

    I don't own a Taco anymore.
    I think my relationship with my local tire shop is more important to me than trying to get away with a free tire...I'm sure they would have looked up the sizes and known it was different anyway when doing the warranty paperwork.
