does the 2018 SR5 & the TRD Sport have the same frame (both in 4X4 configuration)?

i'm trying to determine the real differences between the 2 models, and why the SR5 wouldn't be a good truck for me.

also, are the optional "cast aluminum running boards" - like in the fricken' olden days, huh? - any good? they're an 800$ option, half of sliders, and I basically only want them to keep the twatheads at the beach parking lot from dinging my doors.

    thanks.

As far as I know the frame is the same across the models. The SR5 is a great truck.

As far as sliders. You can get a set for $800

Keep in mind that if you are looking at the Toyota configuration site, those trucks are already built. If you want a truck without certain options, you will need to negotiate (or order specific) that with the dealer. My dealer was willing to remove certain options to get me into a particular truck. Difference in SR5 and TRD Sport would be options, wheels, and (I think) shocks.

wheels, shocks, radio, hood scoop, dual climate control, the running lights are different, push to start, fob instead of a key so you just go to the handle and it unlocks for you? plug in the bed of the truck. i think that's it? I have the SR5 it's a good cheap and a few thousand less. You can get auto headlights, and a sunroof, heated seats, in the TRD

most of those items mentioned have no value to me. I would either not use or replace w/ aftermarket parts.

hell, I drove a 1973 Ford F-100 without a working gas gauge for two years. only ran out once.
