...^^^... Open up a claim with Toyota Corporate before this gets deeper in the mud. That will give them a push to do it correctly.

Good luck as these screw ups on a screw up can you cost you big money in the end at trade-in time and more frustrations in near future.

Well, coming on 4 weeks & no word outta the dealership. Knowing they don't have a body & reading some the issues others are having with outsourced body shops,I'm thinking of just sitting & waiting a little longer for a TSB. My other option is to call Toyota CS myself, any thoughts or advice?

Only entity invested in your best interest in this matter is you. Start calling the store until someone commits to an answer - of which I know you are writing down along with all of the other interactions wit them to date - and if it doesn't satisfy you escalate it.

Update on hood issue...got a call yesterday my new hood is in & they want to schedule painting & installing. As stated in earlier posts, can't talk them into a sport hood, but I tried. Hoping the paint matches good & also this hood doesn't have separation issues. Maybe if Toyota has to keep replacing hoods a TSB will come out. Keep y'all posted on the results

Hood update. My truck has been in a body shop the dealer sent it to for 2&1/2 weeks. I'd already stopped by that shop & showed them things that weren't right. They said they fixed it & the the dealership called me today to look at it. Could've matched the paint for the replacement hood better myself at a big box hardware store. So I'm still in the loaner & the dealership is calling me later about how they're going to make this right. 2 things, dealer is doing everything they can so far,no prob there. Also, no TSB on the hood issue yet. Keep y'all posted

Took my truck to the dealer back in October. Been getting the runaround since.. I'm taking the advice of @Vbpiper and fixing it myself. Just waiting on the materials from Amazon.

Appreciate it. I'll definitely take you up on that if I run into any problems.

2nd update. Yeah, I should've fixed it myself, I thought I'd be doing Tacoma owners a favor by another owner saying there's a hood issue. The dealership saw what I was talking about when the outside body shop brought it to them. They parked a new MGM Tacoma next to it & told the body shop guy it needs to look the same. Can't believe for a hood swap & paint it's taken over 2 weeks & it's not right yet. Like I said in another post subject, it's a lease I was hoping to buy out at the end, but if it's not right, I have an out at the end of the year. Even if I lost some money on the deal, it'd be better than paying 4 years on a truck with a crappy paint job.

If it's a lease, I'd start discussing getting out now

A leased vehicle is essentially a rented vehicle. At the end of the lease it gets turned in and you walk away - the mismatched color of the hood will have no financial impact on closing out the lease. So why would there be a need to terminate it early? This isn't a safety issue, it's a cosmetic imperfection on a vehicle he doesn't even own.

I'll be past some financial obligations in a few months & will be in a position to buy. If the truck looks good fit & finish wise, I'll see if I can use this debacle to work a better buy out. If it's not good, I'll try then to use it to make a better deal on a new Taco. Either way, I think I'll do okay.

3rd update, week 4. Well it's been 4 long weeks, looks like it'll be another week till I'm back behind the wheel. The paint matches great now, but the boneheads at the subbed-out body shop scratched up my driver's side headlight capsule & grill this time. The dealer is working with me on this & replacing those parts, they'll have to order them, plus if I decide to purchase at the end of the lease, it's in my contract now to lower my buyout reflecting my lost drive time & hassle thru all this.

    FINALLY!
Picked up my Tacoma last night, looks good, 2 new headlight capsules & a new set of front flares because the original body shop screwed up both items. This new shop they sent it to went thru the others work & corrected the mistakes. Great to have my truck back. I noticed on the new headlight capsules that the top mounting tabs appear beefier, Toyota did a change I was told. These have more ribbing on them, I'll post a pic if anyone is interested.
