    Reviving.

I am having trouble following the diagram with the different hood areas. For example, in the first illustration, where are areas "A" and "B"? Similarly, where are areas "C" and "D"? I take area "D" to be the gap between fender and hood but not sure. Area "C" ... is the illustration, at least for me, is hard to follow. Appreciate anyone that can help with better understanding the illustrations by pointing out which parts I should be looking at my newly acquired hood.

Can someone identify the source of this image? I tried google lens. Is it from one of the four volumes of the factory repair manual, or is there a separate body repair manual that includes this image?

Did u ever get this sorted out? Im in the same boat after an oem hood swap accept my tolerances are radically shifted to the passenger side to the point of rubbing where the hinge seems to be the point where the misalignment seems to originate. Any advice would be appreciated!

The hood bolts have a shoulder and center themselves in the hinge holes. The shoulder is basically the same size as the holes in the hinge which results in NO adjustment available. I ran into this while swapping hoods for a scooped version. I imagine one could bend the hinges as necessary to align but I decided to use a standard bolt and flat washer in place of the shoulder bolts. This allowed a small amount of hood adjustment.

Do the dealerships sell the bolts needed or did you have to grab some at Home Depot?

I imagine the dealerships would have the factory bolts with the shoulders. For standard bolts/washers I would go to HD or a real hardware store (HD hardware sucks).

Ok Forsure yeah I was thinking of just tapping the hinge a bit but with my luck I’ll jack something else up ha but if you happen to know what size bolt you ended up using. I’ve seen on a few forums saying it’s a 8x1.25 thread I’m just not sure what length with the washer and such. Also appreciate the insight I couldn’t find anything on this to save my life ha

Use non-shouldered bolts but only one on each side…..it’ll get you some side to side, or just adjust the fenders.

    swapped for clean, scoopless hood
Unless you look for a specific grade and possibly brand all real stores are just as likely to have the same quality level default choices of in stock hardware whether you go with hd, lowe’s, true value, ace, etc. even grainger/zoro.

Ya - what he said - I guess I have no clue what I'm talking about. Go to Home Depot!

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
You might have better luck getting a response if you tagged @NomadicCypress. This way he knows to look.

I did not, I tried different bolts and everything. I think it just had to do with slightly different tolerances on the new hood and the truck.

I guess I did solve it in that I traded the truck lol
