I'm more looking for a source for a vinyl decal than a brainstorming session on what else could be done to reduce glare.

I like it! I didn't see where you said you bought it. Can you share your source?

Edit: Nevermind. I found where you said you had made as a one-off by a local shop.

One week bump. No pressure Andrew, I just don't want this to fall off the radar. I hope your grandmother is doing well.

All, in order to get a decal to yield straight edges after being stretched/heated/shrunk to conform to the contours of a scooped hood, the exterior lines would need to account for whatever distortion the process creates (ie. nearly impossible). To do the hood blackout mod on a TRD Sport, order your vinyl over-sized, then use knifeless tape to lay out the exact shape you want, install your vinyl over that, then use the tape to cut the outline from behind. Having DIY'd this myself, the one thing I'd say is buy premium vinyl and tape, and install the knifeless tape securely before using any install spray. Ideally, I'd keep the spray a good inch or two away from the tape so it doesn't inadvertently shift during the vinyl install.

I'll trade you a Muffler Bearing & some rear blinker fluid for one but I don't see the need either
