I've had the crawlorado hood blackout sitting in my garage for a little over a year. So today I dropped the truck off at a local tint shop and had them install it. I only drove it home from the tint shop so I have no experience if it reduces any glare from oncoming traffic. I like the way it looks. Let me know what you think.

You guys are dumb. There are people on here that actually do mods for function rather than looking "cool" at the mall. Hood blackouts are very effective at reducing glare especially off lighter colored trucks. There is a functional purpose for it. It is particularly effective if you have roof mounted lights. Glare off the hood from roof mounted lights can be brutal.

So to the OP, I think it looks great and will do its job. Don't worry about idiot posts from guys with prerunners (even though you have one :) ) or 2nd Gen owners with blacked out roofs (talk about pointless mods) who try to comment on something with an actual purpose.

Thanks Adam, you have a great looking truck!! I think the first time I had seen a hood blackout was on your build page when I believe you had photoshopped one on your truck. It also seems to cut down the glare of oncoming traffic.

I like it too. How much did it run you? Would be nice to keep the glare down from my roof lights.

I like it. Especially since it serves a purpose. I personally think it would look better if the black continued along the lines of the hood all the way to the grill instead of stopping short, but that's just me

Sorry, but I do not see this as functional on the OP's truck... For roof mounted lights, sure, I get that 100%. But to reduce glare from oncoming traffic when the hood of your truck is already higher than most vehicles on the road?? No way.

That being said, from an aesthetics only standpoing, I don't think it looks half bad at all. Now get some roof lights so it's actually functional!! :D

I think it looks mean and awesome but that's ^ the only tweak I'd make to it.

I've been thinking about a matte vinyl wrap over my hood scoop to kill the sun glare

I don't know what the sun intensity is like in IL, but in CO just the sun reflecting off the hood is brutal.
