I've always liked the way it made the truck look. Had one on my 99 and now on my 09. I swear it saved the windshield on my 99 once.

I like mine, and it also saves the hood, not just glass. But it's obviously your call.

Don't things that fall on your truck from trees get stuck in them?

I say no. My truck came with one and when I took it off it looked so much cleaner FWIW I didn't notice any increase in the number of bug splatter on my windshield vs having it on so for functionality it's also a no.

I had so much crap on my hood from where the previous owner had it on and never washed it that it took me about an hour washing and using rubbing compound to get it all off once I took the deflector off.

Yup. In my case lots of pine needles, catkins, sap and seeds. And it all just gets wedged in there. Had one on my old 4Runner forever .. but all that crap definitely scuffed up the paint over the years. Still I'm not sure all the gravel beating against the hood isn't worse. The paint on the new trucks sure seems a lot thinner. If I could find one that was easy to clean behind, I'd go for it. But I have yet to find one.
