Hood deflector?

Before I get flamed to hard, I'll be doing a road trip from So Cal to Denver next week and was thinking of getting a good deflector to help deter chips and what not. Once I get back home, I'll remove it.
That said, anyone have a particular one they like for such occasions?

 

I'd probably just put some SunTek or Xpel on but if you're determined to get a deflector seems like you can never go wrong with WeatherTech or AVS.

Couldn't go wrong with both for max protection.

 

I have one ,and I have yet too replace my windshield,they help a LOT to deflect rocks up and over your truck,mine is AVS.

Lots of guys here on TW hate them,yet they would rather spend $1200.00 plus $$$$$ on a new windshield once a year,lol

 

Hood deflectors protect your hood directly underneath the deflector. Nothing else.

Which one do you have, seems to be a few options on their website. Also, any pics?

 

I have an avs one on my hood. It’s good for stopping small rocks but not a bolt that a truck in front of me flung from a tire and cracked my windshield down the middle.

 

I have the AVS bug deflector II. For $60 it’s not a bad deal, and have never had a crack or chip on my windshield.

I have one I use in the winter since they use crushed lava rock instead of salt or sand for icy roads. Works great for small stuff and does help keep some bugs off windshields but not all. Great for trips as you can go longer between windshield cleaning. I remove it in the summer.

Goes on easily with screws under the hood and never touches the top. Takes about 2 minutes to remove or reinstall.

 

Thanks for that! I didn't realize the one I posted is actually stuck on the hood.

 

That's why I used this one. This one uses existing holes under the hood. You just push in the supplied anchors with your thumb for the screws.

 

Is color matched a thing? I want one and wish I already had one as I've got a few chips already. Function > form but that brow look really throws me off.

That said, I think I have had an AVS hoodflector sitting in an Amazon wishlist for a hot minute year.
