Lol read the posts. People with them still get bugs and rocks. People without them still get bugs and rocks. What this means is they only protect what's underneath them.

On another note, I am still astounded by what people will believe when it comes to justifying their ideals or purchases. Reality or logic has no place in their brains.

IQ of 206 eh? That's pretty high....

Even if they don't offer total fool proof protection from stones I like the look so that's worth it to me.

I do too for sure and I've run several over the years. As long as people keep their expectations grounded in reality and don't expect nothing to ever hit the windshield again!
I had a rock the size of a softball come through my windshield and land in the back seat once. That truck had a deflector on it too...

Long time ago. I commuted 126 miles round trip to college every day. Part of the trip was driving down a two lane next to a river with cliffs above me on one side. Just cruising about 50, windows down listening to music when wham!
Musta fallen off the cliff and the odds of me passing under the rock at the exact instant and going right by my head... it tore the center back of the back seat too!

I sure hope not. Had my truck for two months and just had to put a windshield in from a rock. $400 not $1200

Funny you mention that. When i owned my tundra i had to replace the windshield twice the first year owned from flying rocks from passing vehicles. After that never again for 18 years i owned it. I never installed any deflectors either. However i did have one on my 93 toyota pickup to help prevent all the paint chips on the hood i was getting....the downside was it caused the hood to vibrate over 50 mph. So far i don't plan to ever install a deflector again.

If you don't mind the temporary ghetto look, the track queen cars (Ferraris, Aston Martin, etc.) use blue painters tape to protect leading edge paint surfaces.

For a long trip, I had a friend tape the whole hood and A pillars ... worked great.
