Not sure if I should wait until Friday to comment or not. I guess I just did.

Sun won’t glare and vinyl can’t stick to a real four-wheel-drive.

Factory 2-inch lift kit with Toyota Heritage Grille. Added some heritage color tri-color vinyl to hood and rear.
Not much if any glare noticeable for me but I did apply a retro color vinyl.

I never saw so much consistent grief in a Tacoma world thread… giving the original poster grief for having a clean truck and to buy sun glasses and being a dummy for mentioning rhino lining. I was smiling to myself, sure, but dang.

anyway, I get super bad glare all the time too when I’m going up a steep hill at dusk or dawn on dirt roads and the sun is like sitting on the top of the hill and reflecting off my hood so there are 2 suns blinding me completely, it’s kinda dangerous. AND it’s super annoying. So maybe I’ll get some matte stuff and stick it on or just spray the damn thing with matte black rustoleum. No, rhino lining. Yeaaaahh

You've seen nothing yet..... If you make it past 1 post, you'll see an entire (tacoma)world full of dumpster fire threads. You stumbled across an actual helpful thread is the worst part.

Wax your hood and don’t completely buff off the haze. Extra paint protection might be the bonus.

Hood glare? Never had it with my Barcelona Red Tacoma. Sounds more like someone wants to do mods with his hood.

Luckily I haven't noticed any glare from my normal hood yet unless I turn on my lightbar. I do always wear sunglasses when driving during daytime though. I used to want a scooped hood but read sun glare can be pretty bad on it.

I got a hood vinyl for my Tacoma and had it put on about 2 years ago. It's so badly cracked and crazed now, that I need to replace it. It did help with hood glare, but be sure to get a good one. Maybe a local graphics/wrap place will have higher quality vinyl?

I used to cut vinyl as a side job, and have experience with several cheaper types as well as some of the higher quality types.

I can tell you from personal experience both on my own rig and our off road trailer, look for Oracal vinyl.
For the colored stuff like on my old Jeep and our trailer, go with Oracal 651.
Holds up really well to UV, washing and weather.
I put a cowl stripe on my JK and had it on for 5 years or so before selling the Jeep.

The crest I designed for my wife and I below, that I put on our trailer was put on in January of 2020 and has not had a single piece come off, crack or peel.
    It's great stuff.
