Compare my view to yours and see what you're missing.

It's like living by the airport, after a while you don't hear the jets until you've moved away.

I'm tall enough to see over it and happy with my truck. They make so many different models because we all don't like the same thing

As long as you are happy with yours, that is what matters.

I had a local guy wrap my hood with 3m matte black vinyl film. Mainly for the aesthetics but also figured it would protect against rock chips and UV/ paint oxidation. I am thinking about doing matte on the roof as well

Glad to hear they're taking care of you.

Here's a tip for the install. Sometimes the rear curve does not exactly match the rear crease of the truck so it might not look perfect where you might have overlap. To eliminate that move the decal away from the crease an inch or two then it appears to follow the crease perfectly. I actually moved it down about 3 inches from the rear crease on my truck as you can see here.
    20180911_133926.jpg

Now whether it had a perfect contour or not it still looks like a correct alignment to the rear crease.

Thanks for the tip on that! I always dislike vinyl and sticker work, hope mines looks as good as yours.

I didn't want an overpriced piece of low quality precut vinyl like you'll get from most places, but being in Arizona I wanted to cut down on that almost daily glare. I elected to wrap the whole hood myself, it was very simple, cost $50 for a piece of good quality vinyl (Vivvid), and barely an hour from start of prep to being done picking up after. Very happy I did it.

Thanks, take your time, use plenty of sudsy solution until you have it placed where you want it then squeegy it down. The vinyl most places use like RLM and Jupiter on Earth is 6 year Avery so it's quality stuff. I did mine almost 4 years ago and it still looks as good as the day I installed it. Truck has never been inside the garage so it gets the brunt of weather and sun all year.

You could also talk to a vinyl installer to see what they would charge for a professional install. My guess it would probably be about $200 for about 2 hrs work including prep.

Not a fan of installing myself either but the results can sure make bland colors pop.

I suggest getting a hood stamp using 3M 2080 Dead Matte Black Vinyl Wrap
    [IMG]
    ^^Like that

3M's vinyl is literally the matte-est, blackest thing you'll find. Its blackness should absorb more light than regular matte black vinyl

This. Had a local shop install some matte black over the whole hood (including skewp) on my wife's T4R - the scoop reflected erratically when the truck bounced around - cost about $150 in total and made a huge difference in function and looks.

Here is mine...got it from Etsy...for my 2022 TRD Sport. No glare so far but it's not a 110 degrees yet in Texas. :)
