Hood latch won't shut

    hi - had the same issue with my truck ... the forum helped .. undid the bolts , lubed it up , had someone else activate the lever in the truck and moved it with my finger, and then it started working again ... the weather is getting at it and starting to rust in there... thanks for your help !! and OMG your poor truck hood !!

    its the cable hanging up in the sheath, you got to spray lube into both ends of the cable and the work it in by using the release in the cab. better to try at the engine compartment end first because the lube will work its way down thru the sheath, its a little tough but you can remove the engine latch end and stick on the spray can that straw in as best you can and let some lube drain into the line, let sit, try again then work the latch back n forth in the cab eventually it will free up and work smooth, what happens is the engine latch is not being forced to the hood closing position where it springs back into position for closing cause the that cable is not pushing it there due to lack of lube or it just is hanging up, with the engine bay end removed from the latch you can work the cable in and out from inside the cab pull thing works that lube in the line
