Hood Latch

    Pulled the Hood Latch under the dashboard and handle just flopped - hood didn't open - used vise grips on wire attached to the handle under the dash and it opened the hood - positioned the wire into the notch on the latch - ok now - don't know how it got out of the notch - thought it might help someone - first time I had this problem and it's a 2008.

    Don't know if this might help, but the two rubber bumpers in the front edge of the hood can be turned out to increase pressure of the hood when closed allowing the hood to pop up more strongly when you pull the hood release lever. Worked like a charm for me when the hood wasn't popping open enough when I pulled the latch in the cab.
