Has anyone tried or know anyone with one of the replacement scooped hoods for 2nd gen tacos that they have on ebay? I have been looking and they are like $200-$300 minus the insert and paint. Was thinking about getting one just was not sure about them and wanted to ask around first.

I would never buy something that's large and aftermarket like hoods off eBay. Cheap hoods tend to have fitment issues. For the cost of buying the rest of the scoop pieces and colormatching paint, it would be the same cost as finding a used factory scooped hood. I don't know who makes those eBay hoods but you can search certifit hoods, some here have bought those .

Something else to consider. If it is not factory (or factory approved) the crumple zones may be different and that could cause serious problems in a accident. Ask me how I know?
