When traveling at highway speed it looks like my hood kinda bounces up and down. Doesn’t feel loose when I get out and jiggle it. Anyone else notice this? Just me?

Depends on 'how much'. Sniff around TW, there are threads about the bonding agents between the structural support and top layer not being solid.

Get some goop and apply it where the sheet metal separated from support beams. That's what I did.

Need some clarification on goop. I can think of lots of things I'd call goop but not want under my hood.:rofl:

That's normal. Although for how heavy the hood is, you would expect differently, no?

It's a common problem with our trucks. The glue/adhesive between the hood's outer metal sheet and the bridges/braces underneath simply just separates. The build quality is not great. Same thing will happen on the roof and the center bridge/brace. The adhesive fails.

There was a recall on it, but in case you want to fix it on your own, Mazda has faced a similar issue and issued this fix on the CX5. I will be doing it on my car very soon as most of my driving in the UAE is highway driving.

it's one of the inherent features with this truck that exudes quality. :annoyed:

the link posted above for the issue mazda had 9 years ago is helpful.

I have had bug deflectors on all my tacos over the years and never had issues with them vibrating the hood.

some people add some 3M NVH to the under support of the hood. sometimes the stuff they use from the factory separates a bit from slamming the hood and then you get the vibration at high speeds.

We’ll that’s unfortunate. I’ll take it to the dealer and bitch but I think I’m out of warranty.
