Yep just ordered them. The elite ones. Does there need to be any moding of the hood to make this work or is the holes all ready there for mounting?

You need to drill holes after you've measured, checked twice, measured again for sanity sake, drink a beer to calm nerves before drilling into hood... It's not bad actually, I installed mine a couple weeks ago, worth every penny.

The sketchiest part is drilling up into the hood. If you're not careful you could puncture the top of your hood from the bottom with the drill.

ETA: do NOT go cheap on the rivet gun. I did and I regret it. That El cheapo Stanley one from HD can kick rocks. I got the rivets in, but I could have been done much sooner with less swearing/blood spilt if I spent an extra couple bucks for a quality rivet gun.

    Ya, that kind of thing.
To be fair I should go back and change that original comments to direct them where they were intended.

I second that motion... I have the HD "Dewalt" rivet gun, that thing was a real PITA as well.

I'm going to get an air gun for next time. (whenever that is!)

Love my hood struts! Bought the mid range kit, didn't see the need for the "Elite" ones. :)

I second this about the rivet gun... Got a "professional/contractor" grade Stanley one from Amazon... Yeah, the rivets on the bottom I had to turn the handle away from me, I had to squeeze so hard I gave myself a tension headache for like 2 days... It really sucked.

Also, I bought a set of drill stops off Amazon to give me peice of mind about drilling into the hood.

    Buy these:
    Milescraft 5342 Drill Stop Set, 6-Piece https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0055HPIWS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_1F8PybBGS4E6C

Not this (2 day tension headache):
Stanley MR100CG Contractor Grade Riveter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BR7JUG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_IG8Pyb8N3HRHX

You seem to have misplaced your modifier. It would be "shitty reliability joke".

Also, your mom is a reliability shitty joke.:duel:

Mrkabc sorry you had to read that but when I was raised you never brought the mother into a discussion like tacoflavor. That was totaly unnecessary.
