One of my few complaints for gen3 is Toyotas failure to incorporate gas operated hood struts to open that 200 lb. hood. To top that off the prop rod is so short the hood is only half open when propped. I doubt my 5'3" 95 lb. wife could even get it open and propped up if she had to. I can see some aftermarket struts for me in the future.
Has anyone installed any yet? If so do you have part numbers and pics of mounting points would be much appreciated.

Is it not self dampening? :D

Redline makes a set if I'm not mistaken.

Wow, I need to get some as well ...my wife is 5.0 ft tall and the hood is taller than she is, so not much worry of her opening the hood, but just in case I would get some.

I'll be patiently waiting for Redline's Black Friday sale... Until then, what's the difference between Quicklift standard, plus, and elite? Seems to be the same exact product made of different materials...

    • Progressive, slow release gas springs - final few inches of operation, gas springs slow down extending rate allowing for a fluid lifting process.
    • Silver zinc-plated hardware in base QuickLIFT system
    • Black powder coated hardware in QuickLIFT PLUS and ELITE
    • 316L Stainless steel gas springs in QuickLIFT ELITE

I think I'll save $50-$60 (Not sure what the $10 gap on their site is for) and get the standards.

Well they were going to not even give an operating hoop similar to the Alfa 4c. But they knew there were the die-hards out there that wanted an actual hood. So they compromised.

3" lift, goodyear wrangler duratracs 285/70r17, k&n filter, bakflip vp tonneau and tint.
Is there a link to these?

I could really use a set. I'm 5.5 and my truck has 5" of lift. I have to stand o my toes to get the hood stand in.
