I got a vinyl hood decal from someplace online (I should've researched more) and had it installed by a wrap company locally, to avoid exactly what you outlined here. I will admit, the thought of spending an hour, absolutely frustrated in the garage, ending with close to $100 in a garbage can is what made me pull the trigger.

Now that my decal is badly cracked, I'll need to replace it, and will just go directly to the local wrap shop and let them make it out of better vinyl and install it themselves.

home brew. took some cues from C4 and coastal offroad.

if i were to make antoher one, i would just order a DIY kit from coastal. i saved maybe $100 designing it myself.

I actually got it from another member on here, mcmnos4r2. I'm not sure if he's still doing them anymore because it was more of a side-gig. I found him through this thread.

How long are the wraps and decals lasting for you guys? I saw the ebay cheapo was 2 years but what about the others? I'm heavily considering a hood wrap possibly with a little curve around the front to calm the intensity down a bit.

Old thread, glad it popped up.

I just sent off a web request for a quote from a local shop for a hood wrap on my 23' Off Road. The sun glare is especially bad at times from the section that slopes down at the end of the hood directly in front of the windshield.

I included a photo posted here as an example, other than I want it matt black.

How big of chunk of vinyl to wrap a hood? 5x5 or 6x6?
