    Wondering if I got ripped
Can anyone post pics of the differences between a 2008/9 hood with scoop and 2012 hood with scoop
If I got ripped then I’ll have one for sale
    Thanks so much

Here’s a real bastard combination a 2006 pre runner with scoop from a 2008 but seriously I thought it looked ok. I had to replace standard hood because of hail damage. When I sold it last summer the new owner got a great truck that has gone up in value.

    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
hmm, perplexed. Thanks for pics, I see the differences. My problem is how do I tell what year is the one I just picked up. It's used, great shape, no scoop insert. Now I'm thinking I may need measurements of hood scoop for both so I can compare to the one I have.

does the 2012 scoop seem flatter than the 2009?

    Hey Geeves77
Could you take a pic of the underside of ur hood (framing) I believe this will answer my question
Looks like the framing is different from 2009 to 2012
    Thanks

Did you try fitting it on your truck? That would give you an answer...

you could do a 2012+ conversion on the front of your truck to match the hood. The fenders are the same. You would just need a grill, headlights, and the support brackets. And a bumper if your truck is stock

This would involve work . . . No not yet
Was doing research with all my tacomites first. Looks like the frame ribbing on underside is key to my answer
Think I might just have the correct hood

I'm confused, did you buy the hood or just the scoop?
The hoods are quite different between the 05-11 and 12-15.

I got scooped hood but need to buy the scoop inserts.
I would do a trial fit but its cold and now wet with snow coming, life in the great North East.
As I mentioned, I think the key identifier on a 2012 and up hood is the ribbing formation on the underside.
The hood I picked up has the X formed sections as opposed to straight ribbing that I think is on the 2012 hood.
Really appreciate everyone's help/thoughts with this

I am looking for a scooped hood for my 07 but contemplating the 2.5 conversion!

This is what I have found. First pic is 08 to 2011. Second pic is 2012 to 15.
Luckily the hood I picked up is of the first variety, which will fit my 08. So I'm good to go, all I need is the inserts.
